Is OKC TOO Quiet?
I don't know about yall, but i think OKC is WAY too quiet on the draft rumor front. I think something significant is going to go down with them on draft night based on Mr. Presti's history of draft surprises. Not top 9 significant, but still a big deal. I have heard legit rumors about literally every team in the 1st round EXCEPT OKC. The only rumor I've heard is about this "promise" to Mr. Orton. I'm not saying it isn't true, because it does make sense at 21, but it's also widely known that OKC wants to move up, and Orton's stock is such that he could be picked anywhere from 13 to yes 21. So to make a "promise" to a mid-to-late first round bigman in a draft loaded with bigmen isn't really a promise it's a back-up plan and lazy reporting. They are targeting someone else but there is no buzz as to who. They haven't had any lottery level workouts (someone correct me if I'm wrong) but it has been comfirmed they have been talking to lottery teams. Has anybody heard anything that makes sense?
As far as I know they haven't released their workout schedule at all. Presti usually plays things pretty close to his chest, but I've never seen him make a bad move, so I feel safe. I hope they are able to land a a starting quality C though!
Would you prefer to hear that as a team with twelve players under contract that they might look to sell one of their first round picks?
They are a quiet organization. They did not leak anything before last year's or the 2008 draft. This isn't anything new. Some teams have guys who like talking, others don't.
I once read that Orton has 2 Knee injuries,I wonder is this true؟
b/c injury history has taken Blair from a 10-17 pick all the way to 37
If this is the case I think that OKC fans should feel comfortable he will fall, but not sure if you have to like that as I am not a big fan for him
also I read that you like Pleiss ,he is 7'1 German C and he is actually good,Draftexpress said that you like him at 26 but I doubt it,I mean the Mavs was scouting him for the 5o pick one month ago and now he is the 26th?I think you will get him at 32 or buy a mid 2nd round and get him if you really like the guy
lastly I read that you have rejected offers to sell your 26th pick
that is all what I know
For Micheal Beasley...Then They'll try to sign Haywood...They don't need 3 late 1st rounders...
The only thing I can be sure about is that they won't be drafting 4 American players next week because they just don't have the roster spots for 4 more guys. So I expect them to take foreign players they can stash, or trade up using multiple picks.
fastdan that's the thing. We don't even have space for THREE Americans, let alone 4. And since someone said Presti isn't selling our first-rounders, we are pretty much a lock to move up, unless there are 2 or 3 stud international prospects that all are available when we pick, which clearly isn't going to happen.
Sources say that the Knicks are still trying to move into the first round and could be targeting the Thunder's twenty-sixth pick.
Scarecrow if you believe you are a &$#%#&@! foool! They wont even trade those pics for Bosh what makes you think they will trade them for Beasley. They arent holding workouts because workouts cost money. The team is deep in debt from the Seattle days. They will sell one pick to create cap space and roster space, or draft an international player or trade up while dumping cap space.
They are holding workouts, they just arn't releasing who. They've reportedly already turned down the Knicks offer to buy a first rounder. They will also have one of (if not the lowest), payroll in the NBA next year. They have no bad contracts and anyone who doesn't get minutes is still on their rookie deal.
How much would their 26 be worth if they sold it to NY??
