OK i changed my mind.....Give me T.Jones over H.Barnes

I kept giving Barnes the benefit of the doubt but after this last game he played tonight i just can't do it anymore. Jones is just proving to be the better player right now and is just much more aggressive. Playing for coach cal has alot to do with it as well because he builds his offense to exploit his players strengths. I think Barnes would play better in this system but not as good as Jones because Jones plays with fire and has a high motor which is the main reason i think he is better then Barnes and will possibly be better than him in the future( future is just opinion since no one knows what will happen). The Kid has a Good basketball IQ he plays good defense and can hurt you inside, mid range or drop a three on you. As i type he has 25pts 14 reb 3ast 2blks and 1stl. The beauty of it is He has been doing this against good competition so far this season and not sisters of the poor college

LOL, I said Jones over Barnes

LOL, I said Jones over Barnes after his monster game in HI. Glad to see you come aboard.

To be honest, I love him because he has Odom's skill set AND he has the fire. All you said is true plus he has that bounce. Jones' game looks tough and he can make all the moves. He's averaging 19-9-3 at this point. He's scary good.

Quincey, you a vet: Who was Lamar Odom compared to back in the day if you remember? There had to be a do it all big wing type before Odom. Webber?

Terrence Jones = Paul

Terrence Jones = Paul Pierce

They both play with that slow style but can do pretty much anything on offense. Both are good rebounders given their size and decent passers. Their low post game is okay but they only use it with smaller defenders, and they have the handles (not the speed) to take bigger guys off the dribble.

Magic Johnson. Because he was

Magic Johnson. Because he was 6'9 and played all five positions in HS. There wasn't any other 6'9 guy at the time who coould handle, hit the J and pass. His ceiling was thought to be a superstar future HOF

Even tho Terrence Jones is

Even tho Terrence Jones is having alot more success than Barnes, I still like Harrison in the long run as an NBA player. And as far as T.Jones = Odom comparison, I really dont see it. He doesn't have Odom's length and PG like skills. Terrence Jones is more like Jamaal Mashburn, which ironically played in the same school (Kentucky).

Hey Quincy, wasn't there a Magazine cover that had Lamar Odom and it said something like "Next Magic Johnson?"

Yep I would stick with Barnes

Yep

I would stick with Barnes if he showed the fire or motor even if he wasn't playing well or stats were down but he doesn't show that. He showed it for spurts against Illinois int he first half then he reverted right back to his usual self

Nah, Barnes was a "in flow"

Nah, Barnes was a "in flow" guy and usually by the 2nd half, he did his thing. He was REALLY good. I remember watching dozen of game sets of his when he considering Duke. He played really well and attacked when he needed to.

I'll say this about Barnes, he still has time and I predict he's gonna have that one monster game where he has like 24 and 10 rebounds. I just feel it it's gonna happen in the Duke game.

Kinda. He was just so smooth

Kinda. He was just so smooth and it was so easy. He never really had to face a tough structure like in college as far as teams setting up defences with better more athletic players then in HS at Iowa. AAU and Camps even less so because that's more like open gym. But watching his game last year you would think that in a structured type college game his game would stand out because that's the type of game he seemed to have. the ability to play up and down or in a structured offense.

Sounds like he should have came to Duke. Not alot of pressure on him surrounding dozens of good, developed players who could teach him and help in grow. I would hate to say it but: I feel other then Zeller, he's probably the best at the UNC practices. At Duke, at least he had different guys to tackle and break him down and make him want it more.

Whats funny is i heard he

Whats funny is i heard he kinda gets worked in practice by Bullock and McDonald and he's just as passive most of the time like he's playing for Princeton( my cousins frat brother is close friends with Henson). Who knows if its true or not but interesting

That's very interesting. I could see Bullock doing it because watching him play in HS, he had some DOG in him. McDonald is interesting.

Carolina Wings

They all look nervous. Barnes has a few more games like this, and his spot is going to be in question. Bullock can ball, and Strickland isn't playing well at the 2 either so Mcdonald has a chance to lock up the spot. It just seems to me when I've seen them play that the Bigs are dominant alot of the time, but the Wings are racking up turnovers, charges, and bad shots trying to fight for the spot and score more.

I think Barnes just isn't used to the physical nature at this level. Nobody in Iowa public schools could ever really push him, literally, so the toughness of the next level is catching him off caurd. He is a big kid, but right now he doesnt have the killer instinct to drop his shoulder and move people away from the basket to finish strong. He looks like he is playing for scouts, and he can tell its not going that well. Nervous and desperate to put up some points.

yeahhh i'm also one of T.Jones early lovers..i don't like to change my mind so fast no matter in good or bad way but this time i did it and i'm happy with this...T.Jones still looks to be my favourite for number ONE pick(i like other Jones too but maybe not that much this one) he keeps being legit 20&10! and he is going to be SF plus well over 2blocks per game 2 assists per game..it's nice!

After 27 and 17 last night

After 27 and 17 last night it's hard to argue. Not to mention he hasn't even showcased as much of his playmaking and dribbling ability that he was known for in high school. I dont think hes a superstar in the league but more like a tweaked version of Lamar Odom who will be very productive.

T Jones is good

Looking better than Barnes. I can't wait to see how their talents work on NBA teams. I like Perry over them both.
