Apparently I was slightly hasty in my announcement this morning and that Jonathan Givony of draftexpress might have been given some bad sources when it came to Bismack Biyombo and Myck Kabongo. They unfortunately are not on the team, and it is going to be rounded out by Latvian 3 man David Bertans and PG Raul Neto of Brazil. Here is my original link: http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/hoop-summit-international-rosters

Again I apologize, and here are the official international rosters:

    C Przemek Karnowski 7’0 Poland

C Lucas Riva Nogueira 7’0 Brazil

PF Kyle Wiltjer 6’10 Canada (college) Kentucky

    SF David Bertans 6’7 Latvia

    SF Dario Saric 6’9 Croatia

    SG Evan Fournier 6’6 France

    SG Mateusz Ponitka 6’5 Poland

    PG Nenad Miljenovic 6’3 Serbia

    PG Raul Neto 6’2 Brazil

PG Kevin Pangos 6’1 Canada (college) Gonzaga

I talked about all of these players besides Bertans in a few previous threads that are all linked. Again, I apologize, but I still think the results should be very similar to before. I think the international team is probably a deep underdog, but they still have some nice prospects and hopefully we see some relatively unknown prospects (to us anyhow) step up. If you have any info or analysis, feel free to share.

Also not listed on the official roster, but they sometimes have additions and it would be cool for him to be added, as the team only has 9 players at this point. I would not be surprised to maybe see a potential late addition, but more than likely it would be a player we had never heard of or is off the radar. I hear their is a wicked 5’0 dude from Mongolia who has a 57 inch vertical, shoots underhanded and can reach a cookie off of the backboard and eat it before he hits the ground. Genghis Lichtenstein Matuktuk is this mythical players name, and if you say his name 5 times in the mirror, he dunks over your head during your next basketball game.

    Givony is a quack.

That’s why I exclusively get my information from Aran_Smith.

I think he did the right thing by not being in it again. I do not think he really would have raised his stock much higher than it already is, and more than likely would have a hard time duplicating last years fantastic performance. When you break the games scoring record, I do not think you have much more to prove. My guess is that he has been training, and while he may not have played against competition we have seen, people know what they are getting from him. Lima and Valanciunas probably had difficulty getting permission from their pro teams, one of the reasons Rubio never played in it and luckily enough Ibaka and Donatas were not playing in the upper leagues when they were invited. Birch and Kabongo more than likely had other things going on as well, not to mention their are already two Canadians Bonner, including a guy who actually played HS in Canada. Wiltjer lives in Portland, and therefore it is incredibly convenient and if he did not live where the game was being played, he might have opted to not play as well seeing that he will also be playing in McD’s/Jordan Brand.

No doubt it sort of sucks not to see these guys, but we know a lot more about them than many of the players playing. Kanter killed it, Valanciunas is playing against solid competition and holding his own, thus seeming like a nice Center prospect. Karnowski had an awesome summer tournament, but we have not seen a lot of him, and we will see if Nogueira does as well against these guys as he did in the 4th division in Spain. Saric is the potential star in the long run, and I have heard really good things about Bertans and Neto. I think it will turn out to be a good game, they usually have been.
