THE OFFICAL USA-BRAZIL THREAD!
Tiago Splitter reminds me of a taller and bigger Luis Scola. Dudes gonna be a beast.
Love & Chandler have to be the keys to today's game...USA really will need their inside game against Splitter..who reminds me of a more skilled P.J Brown...
Gay,Durant & Odom must crash the boards..
Man, if Nene was playing- This would be a super interesting matchup.
I'm sorry Iggy has taken the biggest hit for me here. I thought he was a top 25 player but he's been anything but in these games.
I forgot just how fast Barbosa was. You rarely see anybody catch Rose on the break.
I think Rose hasn't fully adjusted to the ball... His handle seems loose.
Whats the score? Im on the road
@Mr.Knick 32
I agree with you about Iguodala. Is he even a second option on a championship caliber NBA team? I don't think so... He's a third option to me.
I never seen a man airball so many shots in my life.
Iggy was one of those "Pippen" types but I mean he is a vet on this team and he's playing like Trash. I though if you put him on a team with options like LAC that he could do well. Now? Eh, I don't wanna touch him at his contract price.
It's alarming how poor the perimeter defense and outlet passing is when you consider there are basically no true bigs on the court and all of these guys should be able to bring it up instead of forcing it to the PG. Also why hasn't Chandler come in yet?
Chandler needs playing time. No one is defending the pick and roll or protecting the rim. Also Eric Gordon has been bad the past 2 games, time to try out Curry instead.
wow they are much better than i expected so much pick and roll and their passing reminds me of their soccer teams how their set plays are. it is hard to explain but it is like offensive pass deflections
Tiago is nice, he is also a very good passer, he has 3 assists. Brazil runs the court really well to go along with the team's size which has been hurting USA. I am more and more impressed with Durant as this tournament goes on, if he doesn't win a championship with the Thunder I'll be damned. Too many turnovers by team USA, they're not communicating well on the court, Brazil has had a lot of blindside steals on USA.
Man it sounds bad.
Hows it looking now?
Yeah, Curry isn't going to help us out b/c right now USA needs to step up the defense and Curry and Granger won't do that. I do think Kevin Love and Lamar Odom should be in along with Gay, Durant, and Rose so the team has size against this Brazil team. Or a lineup with Love-Gay-Durant-Billups-Rose. I think Love is more important and will play better than Odom in this game. This game really has me going, and wishes NBA season was coming sooner.
Oh, and How are things going Tezo?? It's been a while.
Barbosa Weems Derozan Johnson Raptors will be athlethic next year
I was just tired over the summer and lazy in part. School has been well, start classes wednesday. I am starting up my junior year, time really flies. We'll talk later, 2nd half about to start. Thanks for asking.
I've always thought Iguodala was somewhat overrated.
I mean, he's a great athlete and good overall player. I used to think he was an elite defender, but his defense has slipped the past couple of seasons.
I just don't think he's a consistent/reliable scoring threat. I think he'd be best as a third option on a championship caliber team. Second option on a team that could maybe win a first round game. First option on a borderline playoff team.
See look at that to whoever said Tyson Chandler shouldn't be playing. He comes in pushes Splitter to the perimeter and guards the pick in roll forcing Barbosa to take a wild fadeaway 3 pointer contested. That's something Love and Odom have failed to do once the entire game. They have allowed Splitter to get low post position and shoot over them all day.
I didn't say he shouldn't be playing. I said why I thought he wasn't.
He hasn't been very good. Last game he missed two wide open lobs and just played sloppy. He fouls a lot and then doesn't keep his cool very well.
He's 7' 1", so obviously Team USA could use his size. He just needs to play smarter.
Splitter just puts his head down and tries to bully his way into the paint by slamming into his defender. Granted he throws in a spin move here and there, which seems to always be accompanied by his off arm hooking his defender(should be an offensive foul). I don't know if that'll fly in the NBA. Solid player though.
"Second option on a team that could maybe win a first round game. First option on a borderline playoff team."
He's been a 1st option on a team that's won a playoff game. Twice.
I think if you put on a team like the Nuggets with Carmelo, he could help make them a title contender as a 2nd option scorer. It depends on the team, but he can be a 2nd option on a title contender. He can do everything on the floor, and his D slipped last year because of his offensive responsibilities. He's not a guy who can get you 20 ppg consistently, but he can get you a very nice amount of good scoring games even though that's not his game. Put him on a team with a top notch scorer and Iguodala would really stand out on the defensive end more than he did last year. Last year was the only year he played less than high-level on D.

Talk here, tell me about them Brazilians.
How many hot Brazilian chicks do we expect?
Who's winning?
