i watched the arizona-st.johns… and nurideen lindsey jumped out the screen for about 5 or 6 mintues

just taking whoever was guarding him to the basket…scoring at will basically

he has very crisp moves, nice first step, good ballhandling, and is a nice athlete

i looked on espn and he’s 6’3” 185… but he doesnt look 6’3” or even 185

anyhow… i was wondering if anybody else has seen him play and i do think he has an nba future ahead of him for sure

    agree or disagree?

    what u guys think?

I went to the game the other day when St. Johns played Texas A&M. He does look like an NBA player in the future. He can get to the rim very easily and make the shot or get fouled. He really needs to get better at free throw shooting though because of the quanity of shots he will be taking from the line. He also just need to get better shooting the ball because literally all of his points come off layups or free throws. Once people learn that he can’t shoot then they will just to start to play off of him and make him shoot so he can’t get around them. If he developed a shot that would make him very dangerous. Pretty good leaping ability as well.

Yeah, he has a good shot to make the NBA, although it is by no means a lock. I was at the Garden for both games to watch root my Johnnies on so I have the benefit of seeing him live as well as watching their 3 prior games on tv

Like you say, his handle is nice, quick 1st step, along with a host of hesitation and change of pace dribbles and crossovers that make him a tough to guard in transition and in the half court. He also has an array of layups with both hands and has creativity around the rim and is strong enuff to finish through contact in the lane. Sometimes has tunnel vision when driving to the basket but he can certainly drop some nice dimes and find people; but its clear he’s a scorer at heart despite being the pg. Gives solid effort on D within the zone schemes that we play moving his feet well and gets into passing lanes getting deflections etc, but I have to watch more games to getter guage of how he stacks up on that end of the floor.

The thing Nuri has to improve on drastically is his jumper. He shows almost no confidence in his jump shot even from the midrange, instead, always trying to find a way to bully his way to the basket of use that crafty dribble of his to get to the rim. The problem seems to be his inconsistent release point, he doesn’t shoot the same shot all the time which may be the reason for his inaccuracies. The scouting report will be out on him and when Big East play comes, it may be even more of a factor.

Overall, I think he has some nice skills and tools to be able to improve to get to an nba level. Ultimately he’ll have to show that he can run a team because at his size (maybe a lil under 6’3 or right there), its unlikely he’ll be able to play the 2 or even be able to guard 2s. He also MUST improve his jump shot. Seems like he’s never had to rely on it in HS or JUCO, but at this level and beyond, that’ll be something he must develop to supplement his superb driving ability. A mid-range pull-up would do wonders for him, i’m not even talking from 3 yet. But he has 3 yrs of eligibility so he’s has enough time to work on his game, and gain seasoning running the point in a great conference.

Nuri is an animal matter fact a manimal.lol.I am a big fan of his since the season has started. He may not go first round this year but I feel next year he should be a first round pick. He will be the first since Tony Allen. He needs to work on the jumper really. From every where. The FT line 3pt line mid range. Then he should be fine. It would be amazing for him to make it after all that he has been threw in life.
