StF616ParticipantLakers are down 3-2
Celtics are one game away from winning
And they werent even supposed to be here in the first place!
I expected the lakers to win in 6 games and Kobe Bryant just becoming greater
I expected kobe to score 40 points or something in the finals
now they’re one game away from losing
What do you think will happen?
Who wins0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/14/2010 - 4:58am #331972
NYCrealdealParticipanti think wat i predicted b4 the sereis started will hapen celts in 6
but i am hesitant to say that after by looking in kobes eyes that third quarter and after the game i expect a hugggggge game from kobe 45 plus but i dont see anyone else doing much for celtics i see a great effort from everyone i see rondo having his best game of the series points wise because kobe wants to gaurd paul pierce i see ray ray gettin back in rythym and kg doing his thing
i see this gamebeing very close with celtis comming out on top0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/14/2010 - 5:03am #331976
Toronto16ParticipantActually a lot people at the beggining of this series picked the Celtics to win. Now as far as the beggining of the playoffs, nobody expected Boston to be here.

Durantula-35ParticipantI think the Celtics will win in 7, Kobe will score 30+ in games 6 and 7, but his team loses it for him in game 7
But, the Lakers can still win if: Gasol gets 20-10, Bynum gets 10-5, Odom gets 15-7, Fisher gets a couple of 4th quarter buckets, and Artest shoots less than 10 times
Oh, and they should give the ball to Luke Walton more. He’s the real prize of the offseason, not silly little Lebron

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI think the Lakers win it. Kobe and Pau put it all on the table game 6. Then take it in a very close game 7.
Regardless of who wins it I want to see a great game 7. We hardly ever get to see game sevens in NBA finals over the last 15 years.

Bryant24ParticipantMy lakers are not just goin hand the title away kobe doing his thang and scoring 38 on the celtics aint easy he averages 30 in the series and damn near 6 assists so he doing his part he needs gasol to play more consistent and lamar odom isnt good as i thought he was phil only played shannon brown 19 seconds last night relying on sasha when he didnt produce at all to me ans Ron Artest defense is a little overrated i thing lakers are regretting let Ariza go. But I have faith ane we will repeat i dont care how many of yall disagree

Mr.BigShotParticipantLakers in seven, Lakers will not lose in L.A. again if not for the refs and Ray Allen game two, Lakers would be up 3-2.

billykParticipantArtest has been playing great defense all PLAYOFFS… He locked up Durant… He was solid aganist the Suns and Jazz.. Aganist the Celtics he has been doing a decent aganist Paul Pierce.. Pierce would get his money aganist Ariza too…

sheltwon3ParticipantLakers have been in every game and game 5 they played the worst I have seen them play and lost by 6 on the road. Unless Ray Allen duplicates game 2 and Kobe is in foul trouble Lakers should win game 6. Game 7 is whoever wants it more.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantMy guess before the series started was Lakers in 7 and I am still sticking to it, I know the Celtics are playing better now and are more tougher but a lot of guys like Odom and Artest for instance feed off the home crowd and it helps them out a lot, and they play way differently and better much more aggressive, I expect the Lakers to take Game 6 but Game 7 is really just a toss up that I hope the Lakers will take. Artest needs to do what he did in Games 1-4 to defend Pierce they need to keep Allen off the Perimeter or atleast give him tough shots to hit, no wide open threes, they need to start doubling Garnett because he is beginning to come alive and they need to contain Rondo because when he plays extradinary chances are the Celtics win.
What the Lakers have to do is establish their post game, dump the ball down low to Bynum and Gasol and let them go to work, once you establish an inside force you work your way to the perimeter. I have always found inside-out game works very effectively. You know Kobe is going to be great so no big deal for him getting his shots but I really think Artest should post up a couple times for a few reasons 1. To get easy buckets and get him in a good rhythm 2. Pierce is not a good post defender, get him in foul trouble to get him to sit out and make him uneffective 3. Artest is decent in the post and has decent passing ability if he sees a guy wide open he can just kick it out to him.
Guys like Bynum and Odom need to step it up, when Odom plays agressive, crashes the glass and doesn’t always settle for the three, he is a great player and asset on the court, Bynum needs to stay active on the boards and also be able to finish easy buckets and use some of his post moves to get going. Normally I would say play Farmar more but for this series Fisher is the guy to keep in, he is a Veteran PG that understands what to do and when to do it, he defends Ray Allen decently and gets under his skin, he can hit clutch shots when the time presents itself and also is a guy you want to have down the stretch.
Sorry for the long descriptions guys but as long as the Lakers do all those factors they will make it a much more interesting series.

NYK2010ParticipantI had the Celtcis in 6 too, sticking with that.
Okay so your math Bryant24 is way off he’s averaging 4.4 asts in the series not 6 and also the turnovers are 4.2 so the ast/to are basically a wash.
Lakers could’ve put the series away in Game 4 but got killed by Nate and Big Baby in the 4th qtr. That lack of a killer instinct is going to come back and haunt them. The Lakers bench is weak outside of Odom if you can’t see that by now not sure what your watching. Brown’s big moment was the big dunk he almost had in Game 1. Gasol isn’t dominating becaz he has a very good defender on him at all times whether its KG, Wallace, Big Baby or Perkins. Very diff. than going up against the smaller Boozer or the young OKC kids. Fisher is spending all his energy running around chasing Ray Allen it seems. Artest has been off and his defense has been nothing special, Pierce just missed some open jumpers earlier in the series. Durant struggled from the field shooting against Artest but did hit 9 free throws a game it was his 1st playoff series. Pierce is a former Finals MVP, an elite veteran scorer and not bothered by Artest physical play. Lakers are flopping too much and their defense was weak last nite. Don’t give me this garbage about the refs, Lakers took more free throws last nite and about the same in Game 4. In the series Lakers have taken more free throws overall and how many illegal screens do the Celtics get called for. Ray Allen hasn’t done much in this series outside of Game 2 look for that to change in Game 6 as the Celtics close it out.

B-ball fanParticipantI think they win in 6. Ray Allen shoot start to shoot better on the road. Fisher didn’t get away with flopping last game, and Ray Allen is unlikely to continue to have a disastrous series. I believe the Celtics are undefeated this postseason when Ray Allen scores 20+. Celtics will need to cut down on TOs and will need to rebound. The Celtics need to keep the Lakers out of the paint like they did in game 5. The Lakers are unlikely to win if they don’t improve their shot selection.

apb540ParticipantDude Artest has been sub-par all playoffs becuz he really isn’t that good. He did not play lock-down defense on KD in any way, shape, or form and Paul Pierce has made him his personal biotch so far this series! The dude is an average player and overrated defender at this point in his career (now a few years ago would be a different story…)
