STATnMeloParticipantKnicks waive Azubike…….he is almost ready to come back and would be great as the back up 2…I dont think Bill Walker is consistent enough and who else can play behind Melo and Fields….smh bad move by management especially since they waived Corey Brewer too..hopefully they get a guy to put in there like Trey Johnson from the D-League since buy-outs have to be mad by 11:59 tonight to be playoff eligible

STATnMeloParticipantThis could mean Murphy and Jeffries which would allow Shawne Williams to play 2/3 with Melo and Fields and having Douglas play some 2 this could work since I dont think New York would waive Azubuike if they didnt have something up their sleeves

don042488ParticipantSame way how I felt man…They should’ve kept Corey Brewer and Buike and waive Balkman & Roger Mason Jr, or waive Andy Rautins (oh yeah, forgot every team needs at least 1 non Black player on their team…smh) All D’Antoni is interested in is shooters, and dude don’t care about players that make their living at the defensive end, like Brewer, Buike, and Sheldon Williams…smh

sheltwon3ParticipantI think Azubuike is done for the year. he may need more time to recover plus Knicks has a enough 2/3. The need to stock up on 4/5’s. Fields is getting better every game and is a rookie. Bill Walker can give you solid minutes off the bench. also Williams can score and has length. You also add Douglas minutes at the 2 with Melo getting about 38 to 40 minutes at 3 and some at 4. That is enough of swingman. Roger Mason jr should have gotten dropped but their most be some reason they are keeping him. Carter, Billups, douglas can play the point. Amare will have jeffries backing him up. Turiaf will play the 5 but they need to get some more bodies because Turiaf can not play big minutes. I am sure Jeffries will get some time at the 5 as well.

flyboyParticipantThan Brewer and Azubuike, who may not return, and isn’t likely to return to a level required this deep into a season to be a major factor. Mason can play both guard spots and make shots. Balkman is long, an intense defender who can guard several positions, and he’s been a Knick before so there is familiarity. Jeffries coming in gives them a guy whose a OK defender, someone who generally stays solid defensively, and again is versatile and can guard many positions and has been a Knick previously. The roster moves are not surprising.

flyboyParticipantIs signing with the Bucks, so he can be crossed off the prospective list for the Knicks as well.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think Knicks were not trying to get him, They could have been picked him up but they may be going in another direction now.
