mikeyvthedonParticipantNerlens is getting a lot of those same Marcus Camby comparisons thrown around with Davis. I for one feel that while Nerlens is super bouncy and an intense defender, he does not have the offensive capabilities of Davis. People always will go on the "younger guy is better" rant, but I think Davis has weight and capability over Noel.
I am sure that Nerlens will be an impact player in his more than likely one year of college, but do not think his impact will be that of Anthony Davis. Also, at the same stage, it looks like Anthony Davis has a little more going for him as a prospect going into the future. It looks like Anthony Davis is a lock to go either #1 or at the lowest #2. Noel probably has a chance to do that as well, but at this point I like Shabazz Muhammad more as a prospect. Not that this is a major reason to rate him below Davis, but I truly think Davis looks like the better prospect of the two.

Mr. 19134ParticipantAnthony Davis is way more versatile and has a much larger skill set.
Noels is may be even more athletic tho and this past year has show some nice moves around the basket. It’s gonna be hard for somebody to block as many shots as Davis is doing as a freshman (Hassan Whiteside aside) but Noels is also a very gifted shot blocker and I would not be surprised to see him get around 4 bpg next year.
Not sure who is taller who has the longer wingspan tho Davis might be. And as MikeyV said you think Davis needs to gain weight, wait to you see Nerlens Noel’s, who BTW projects to be a Center despite Davis being too skinny to play Center.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantNoel can disappear in some games. Davis so far in his college career has been consistant, his motor runs all the time. Noel flashes, and can dominate occasionally but sometimes I watch him play and I forget he’s even on the court.

GrandmamaParticipantGood question. They both have unlimited potential and have very similar skill sets. I was thinking about this same subject a few weeks ago after watching one of Nerlen’s mix tapes on youtube. At this point Davis is more skilled, and he’s probably a little taller and longer. At the very least, both of them will be defensive monsters in the league.

nbafan7898ParticipantFrom what I have seen, Noel is a better athlete, which is SCARY to think, but Davis is a better player, much more versitile, and is a lot more polished. Noel can get there though with some work.

lalailaParticipanti truly believe i can be wrong cause normally i haven’t seen Noel play..
but he looks a little overrated..idk i would put him over Shabazz in my ranks..
and yes he is doing so much things similar to Davis but he is at least a little worse almost everywhere..don’t know if he is really a better athlete but if he is he still looks closer to 6’10 w/o hairs plus he weights at least 10pounds less what is pretty scary he isn’t even going to be a pf..that he hasn’t that touch to be either good jump shooter or post player..and one thing who scares me and what we haven’t seen from Davis at all is that Noel dissapears in some games so might not even be your fulltime energy guy like Noah…
overall he can defend he can blocks he is tall he is atletic BUT not taller not longer and not better than Davis in my eyes at all.

redone1ParticipantIt seems as if most of you think Davis is the superior player. I am a big UK fan and love watching Davis but honestley I think Noel will be a better pro (and perhaps better in college). Yes Davis is more athletic but Noel is incredibly athletic in his own right. Davis is a great shot blocker but I believe Noel will be even better (not just at blocking but altering shots too). Noel is much better at waiting for his man to leave the floor before he does, while Davis is more prone to jump at pump fakes. Noel is also better at keeping the ball in play when he blocks shots, rather then just swatting into the first row and giving the offense another chance to score.
I also think Noel will be a better offensive player. Right now he is a better post player offensively then Davis is, and Noel is starting to develop a bit of a mid range jumper.
I would love to see Noel and Muhammed go to UK, it would be really fun to watch.
