I remember somebody posting on here if they thought Sim would be drafted.  I honestly had not heard of this guy before then.  I saw his workout video thing on draftexpress and couldn’t believe how tall and massive he was.  unlike Manute Bol, who was like 7’7′ and skinny as a rail, Bhullar was very chunky, which is kinda putting it nicely.  I think it’s probably a good thing he wasn’t drafted because there is absolutely no way he would’ve stuck in the league, even as a late second round pick.  He’s way too slow to even try to play in an NBA game and would’ve been eaten alive trying to play against NBA players.  I don’t even see him getting a summer league tryout.

I think you absolutely hit that on the head. There’s no way he is an nba player. I don’t see him even contributing on a d league squad. He has no skill what so ever. Extremely overweight and is quite obviously a terrible athlete. Him being 7’5" is a non factor since he isn’t a shot blocker or a good rebounder because he is slow, can’t jump, has poor court awareness and timing. Those videos of workouts on pages like draft express are supposed to highlight players good qualities, of which he has none. He is just playing basketball because of his height and that alone will get him a paycheck way undeserving. It’s easier than getting a real job. Can’t blame him.

Could have massive financial upside for the league if he makes it. It could lead to a huge surge in the NBA’s fanbase in India if he became a rotation player, leading to the sport becoming exponentially more popular there. In a few years time you could start seeing a few players coming out of there. Basically he could do some of what Yao did for China. More TV deals, merchandising sales, and another talent pool to pull international talent from.

I think it’s exciting to think about from a fan perspective too. Look at how many players are coming from South America, Africa and of course Europe. Now we’re starting to have players trickle in from Australia and Asia. Does anyone else ever wonder how many kids in places like India or China (which account for like 1/3 of the world population) would have grown up to be NBA all-stars if they had the same exposure to the game, facilities, coaching etc…and in turn we all missed out on seeing them play? This is why I really hope he makes it.

He’s 7’5", but let’s see if he can do anything besides eat space first.

I think its safe to assume Sim and the Kings got together because the owner is of Indian Heritage. China loves the Rockets. The Kings would be foolish NOT to try to tap into the Market of the other country with 1billion+ people.

Looking at his workout videos, he moves pretty fluidly for a 7’5 guy. And he’s still very young. I wouldn’t mind investing in developing him for a couple years and see what i have with him. The weight wont be an issue along with his lack of stamina- trainers will work it out or into him. Not a bad prospect for a 7’5 guy, but i doubt his fundamentals or BBiq was ever formed, so your literally starting at ground zero with him.
