Nike Lebron X...

300 hundred dollars for a basketball shoe. 300!!!! This is pretty ridiculous. I can see maybe paying 100 for a pair of high quality basketball shoes, but not anywhere close to 300. I remember back in the day when the first Jordan's came out and inner city kids were getting robbed at gunpoint for their sneakers. Pretty sickening. I hope this doesn't start up again for the Nike Lebron X. Anybody else think this price is outrageous?

$315* And how is this

$315*

And how is this LeBron's fault? He just won the MVP award, NBA Championship, Finals MVP, and Gold Medal in the Olympics all in the same year. It's no wonder Nike is cashing in right now that he's at his hottest, nationally and globally.

Yes its a ridiculous price but I'm sure we all saw this coming eventually. I mean, people are killing themselves over a pair of Jordans meaning there are people crazy enough to buy expensive shoes so why not continue to test the illogical sense of certain individuals for sneakers?

Personally, I don't like spending more than $80 for sneakers. I mean I've had the same basketball shoes for the last 3 years but if the water wheel is churning, why wouldn't Nike try to fill as many buckets as possible?

I remember paying 150 a piece

I remember paying 150 a piece for Jordans back in middle school when the 14's 15's and 16's came out and thinking that price was crazy...but at least I knew my feet looked good.

why is everyone blaming the

why is everyone blaming the athlete.... it's the Lebron X by NIKE. Maybe NIKE had something to do with the retail price.

Thats insane

but maybe because I'm 30 and Lebron is younger than me. I only bought his shoes from an outlet mall to hoop in for like 35 bucks.

I did pay 210 for some Jrdans that came in a suitcase back in the day, that had a lid over the shoestrings. And those foamposites were always 180. This is not that crazy, if you dont want them then dont buy them.

However,

I will be substitute teaching this fall and probably full time by January or next fall once I get my teaching certification done. The idea of shoes and the such do make it harder to reach and enlighten young people. To each his own but there is a social, ethical and educational cost. I was next to somebody b!tching about grad school books in the CSU bookstore and he had on regular Lebrons (175). The thing is how you spend your money is evidence of your priorities.

I guess Nike forgot to look

I guess Nike forgot to look at the nation's unemployment rate.

Regardless of the technology that's in the shoes, it's outrageously overpriced.

The best way for people to take a stand would be to say "no" and not buy it.

These are awesome, I am so

These are awesome, I am so getting these!!..................In 2018 when they're 30 bucks and I can wear them without thinking of how many poor kids in Africa and Asia I could feed with the money I spent on these shoes. Ridiculuosly overpriced, this is the shiit that got us in the reccesion, people buying things they can't afford. There is a saying in India that says you should only stretch your feet as long as your blanket can cover them. Unfortunatly everyone wants stuff even if they can't afford it.

dandrizzy makes a good point.

dandrizzy makes a good point. $175 for the actual shoe is pretty expensive, but the extra money for the + version comes from some pretty advanced technology, it shouldn't be too surprising how expensive they are. Being able to track your jump, speed and such is pretty impressive and it isn't like they are only offering the + version, I don't see what all the fuss is about.
