Just wanted to post the link. It is going on at the same time as Adidas Nations, I do not know which one took it from the other, but I am fairly sure Nike had a Global Challenge last year at the same time too (I know Adidas definitely had Nations last year too). Similar format, 4 US HS teams, East, Midwest, South, West. International teams include Canada, France, Brazil and All-Asia. Canada has a lot of solid prospects playing, including Myck Kabongo, Kevin Pangos, Kyle Wiltjer (from Portland), 7’4 Sim Bhullar and 2014 prospect Andrew Wiggins (who is best known as the Youtube sensation of the 13 year old dunking and who is the son of former Houston Rocket Mitchell Wiggins). At a closer look I do not see Austin Rivers, but I think this tournament has more of the best 2011 prospects compared to Nations, where as Nations has an entire team dedicated to class of 2012 as compared to the Challenge only having Perry Ellis and Brandon Ashley amongst American HS players. Nigel Williams-Goss, who is class of 2013 and plays for Findlay Prep in NV is from Portland and will play on the East team (huh?). The Brazil team appears to be small in stature, and I do not know much about the French or Asian team, other than I think the bigger players are playing in Nations. I think I counted about 12-13 players I see in most peoples top 20-25 in the 2011 class, and a few very high in the 2012 mock. No Mike Gilchrist, no Andre Drummond, but I am hearing a lot about Anthony Davis and will be interested to see how he does. A couple of Syracuse recruits (Michael Carter-Williams, Trevor Cooney) are in it, and I heard that Rakeem Christmas was taking a campus tour as well for those who are Orangemen fans. Just wanted to give people a heads up, and maybe use this page as a way to post information and notes. Rosters are on the website, would love to hear scouting reports or news from those in attendance or following either tournament this weekend.

It was coming from his high school coach so i probably wouldnt put too much into it

I think the only comparison Sim’s coach made to Sabonis is the size. While I know Sim is improving his shooting touch and conditioning, I think their is probably very little at this point to compare him to Sabonis. Where have you been Quincey? Sim Bhullar has been posted about for quite a while, though I guess more about his size than his basketball ability. Nonetheless, the Bhullars are a pair of brothers who are over 7 feet, from Canada and of East Indian descent. They go to Kiski Prep in Pennsylvania, Sim is 7’4 and class of 2012 and Tanveer is 7’2 and class of 2013. I know you are probably better than them and all, lol, but you have to admit you can’t teach height. Definitely interesting prospects to follow, they I think they are both huge works in progress. I know they are both improving their conditioning and I hear Sim has been unstoppable at points this summer, because, who in the hell is going to guard someone as big and tall as he is in HS?

He is Canadian, but I will not split hairs 🙂 Just wanted to post something, I was recently going over the Nike Global Challenge vs. Adidas Nations, and noticed that players such as Rakeem Christmas and Adonis Thomas were listed on rosters for both tournaments, going on at the same time in Portland (Hillsboro to be exact) and Chicago respectively. I have to say, the Adidas site for the Nations tourney is a way nicer site, and they have profiles for Christmas and Thomas, so I hedging my bets and saying they are playing in Chicago this weekend, though I have no idea really. Also, it was confirmed on the nations site that their will be no Canadian team their after looking to see if their was one for ages. Even still, if you want good foreign prospects outside of Canada, Nations I think has it hands down. A lot of interesting foreign players playing HS ball and of course some interesting prospects on the Asian team (Steven Adams who is signed to play for Pitt in a couple years and a couple 7 footers, who I always find intriguing since good size is hard to come by). Also, I heard Sim Bhullar being compared to John Bryant 🙂

Still do not know what tournament he is playing in, but I hit that Christmas thing right on the nose. Great start to the recruiting class for ‘Cuse, and does it now seem like Anthony Davis to Kentucky is inevitable? Have to be the 1 and 2 classes right now, maybe with Duke coming up with their possible signing of Rivers, as well as Mike Gbinije/Marshall Plumlee and NC with McAdoo and Hairston. Louisville as well, will Quincy Miller play for Pitino even after these allegations? Seems quite possible. Other schools that are looking to have top classes include: Texas (top 20 prospects Kabongo and DeAndre Daniels, top 50 Sheldon McClellan), Baylor (I think they are in line for possibly picking up LeBryan Nash and maybe LaQuinton Ross as well, they are definitely becoming a recruiting hot spot), and Florida already has U-17 leading scorer Bradley Beal and had Austin Rivers at a point, Billy Donovan seems to have this recruiting thing down.
