Next great hype after Wiggins
Nothing more intriguing to discover the next One, the once in a generation player, the once in a decade player. Guess what, there is a plethora of great talent on the horizon, but who will generate this kind of following?
2014- I like very much the top 15, believe in Tyus Jones, Okafor, Alexander to become surefire allstars but nobody will have that much of hype (maybe Okafor a little as the next center).
2015- I love most of the top 30, Rabb, Zimmerman, Diamond could very well be franchise type players, but as for national hype, I do not see it.
2016- I adore the potential of this class ( man how I was burned with the class of 2001 who I believed 1998 could be a special one), but I am confident 2016 and subsequently drafting 2017 and 2018 will be something.
As for the players, Harry Giles is the guy in my opinion that will receive this super label, and then there are some guys that could jump on this plane too. VJ King, Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, Josh Langford, Seventh Woods, Tyus Battle, man there is so much talent.
And 2017, if Cody Riley is not 3 years older than his class, there is no way he wont get the hype.
add Joel Berry and Justin Jackson to that 2014 list. been blowing the eybl up lately
How about Diamond Stone? Just look at the guy.
Doesn't that just scream "#1 Pick?"
Dwayne Morgan could be a top 5 player in 2014. He's Rudy Gay.
No, he's Dwayne Morgan.
A lot of people could not stop talking about his potential and Ty Kish of CityLeagueHoops was saying he had never seen someone dominate at close to any level the way DeAndre Ayton does when playing against his peers. He is looking like a recruit who will get massive hype:
Also am a big fan of what I have seen of Harry Giles, Seventh Woods and Jayson Tatum from Class of 2016. That is a pretty exciting class with a great deal of potential. Ben Simmons, Ivan Rabb and Malik Newman are my early favorites in 2015, while I like Emmanuel Mudiay, Trey Lyles and Tyus Jones in 2014. Those are the guys who I have liked early on, I know there are plenty of other names out there. Think there is no shortage of talented prospects, just few with the package of skills/athleticism that we saw this year in Andrew Wiggins.
Ayton is scary. He's got that frame and lift already and he doesn't even have his man muscles in.
One will emerge before him though. 2014 has good players but no sexy standout picks. Mudiay could maybe get there because of his style of play and physical attributes, but he doesn't have enough separation and he's too inconsistent.
My guess would be Rabb. Prospects have to have a certain appeal to get hype and I think Rabb has that. He's an electric athlete. Bouncy, skilled and looks to dunk everything. He kills the glass too and can be a factor defensively.
2016 is stacked so I think it'll be difficult for 1 to completely stand out. Seventh Woods has the hype trains eye because of his combination of athleticism and skill.
I know many of you have seen his highlights, but how about USA developmental player and 2016 recruit Malik Monk? Great combo of size, athleticism, and tough-shot making ability at the 2 guard spot.
Add my son Leroy class of 2030..
Seventh Woods looks promising. If he continues to grow, he could become an instant standout as an NBA prospect.
2016 looks like they will have a lot of star power. Seventh woods,Unique Mclean,Harry Giles, Malik Monk and that is just to name a few
