mds0549ParticipantMost likely they will wait for the playoffs to finish up before they hire a replacement for Addelman but I have been wondering who they would want to bring in as a new HC. Now that Mark Jackson is a free agent I think he fits the kind of team that they have become and would be a good coach for Rubio. He had David Lee which is a poor man’s version of Kevin Love so he knows how to handle the double-double white guy.
Other options that I don’t see working out are Hoiberg, Izzo and Donovan because I think they are going to stay in college instead of bolting for the Wolves.

phila9012ParticipantI think Lional Hollins or George Karl would be good, both veteran coaches, Karl said he was hoping for Minnesota to call him. That is if they plan on trying to contend. If they are forced to trade Love and start rebuilding then they should look for a young coach or a coach who is good at developing players.

BajeebzParticipantThe Wolves need to create a strong culture with their next coach, and looking at Mark Jackson’s resume it seems that he could really help the team.
Mark Jackson’s Resume
–Former NBA All Star
–4th all time in Assists
–Well respected by the media, and known as a players coach
–Established strong winning culture in Golden State,
increasing the win totals in each of his three seasons
–Experience handling double-double white guysYep, looks pretty good to me. I like the fact that he’s not yet 50 years old. A team could hire him and keep him for the long term. Too bad though, because If I know Minnesota fans like I think I do, most of them are thinking that Mark Jackson wouldn’t want to come to Minnesota for some reason or another. I don’t what gets to me more about Minnesota sports, the consistently disappointing sports teams, or the emo fans that expect bad things to happen. wah wah wah. Serious Charlie Brown complex up Nord.

kngojcParticipantAs soon as it was hinted at earlier in the season that it would be his last year in MN as coach, I’ve been thinking Fred Hoiberg would be a great coach for this squad. He’s got the Minnesota background and he’s a good coach that gets the most out of his players. If we brought in Mark Jackson, I would hope for a run-n-gun game, because they’ve got more than a few pieces already in place that supports that. And if we took a chance on Lionel Hollins, I’d hope to see the type of team that developed with Gasol and Randolph as the two enforcers on the team comparable to Pek and Love, even though neither of those guys compare well to Gasol.
Whatever way they go, it’s going to be an offseason of change… again. Just have to hope they pick up some high value guys even if they don’t have the well known names like they’ve done in the past.

JeffreyhardenParticipantMinny will do what Portland did as far as miss the playoffs this year regroup, make their bench a lot better and make a serious run next year with their next coach George Karl (if he doesn’t come back to Milwaukee).
They have a perfect starting 5 like Portland, they just need a bench full of role players that play their role. So far they have a few pieces in 2nd year players Shabazz Muhammad (offense) and Gorgui Dieng (defense).Luc & Chase if healthy will be a great for them next year with something to prove and either JJ Barea was the backup point guard for a team that won the title 3 years ago. So I think that if they keep the team as is they need a defensive coach (Lionell Hollins) if they want to be run and gun and say we learned from our experience last year (looking at you Rubio) then next year will be special for the team.

HitsterParticipantMark Jackson would be a good fit for the T-Wolves, even Mike D’Antoni would make sense for them if someone was brave enough to give him a head job again.
George Karl is sure to get offers but again would he want to return and how is his health doing and there may be more attractive jobs than the T-Wolves for him to sift through possibly.
