holefillers1ParticipantNerlens Noel to Chicago for Rose, Gibson, Dunleavy and the 14th pick.
I like the trade, would do it if Rose had more than one year left on his contract. Regardless of the validity of this trade rumor it is making for some good talk radio today,

trombonematrix43ParticipantI wouldn’t go so far as to call Mike Missanelli “respected”.

220ParticipantThe trade makes basically no sense. The 76ers wouldn’t want to be saddled with Derrick Rose and I doubt the Bulls could want Noel badly enough they’d deal all of that for him.

GBeeParticipantThe 6ers wouldn’t be "saddled" with Rose. He has 1 year left on his contract and the 6ers currently only have 27 million committed in salary for 16-17 (projected cap for 16-17 is ~92 mill). Same goes for every contract that would go to PHI in this deal. They only have 1 year left so there are zero long-term repurcussions. The contracts could just be used to get up to the salary minimum. They could keep Rose on the books (waive him if they so desire) and still have enough to offer max contracts (as if that matters since they’re not exactly a top FA destination).
The issue I have with it from a Bulls’ fan perspective is that I think Noel sucks. Salary dump is fine, but if they’re gonna give up assets for a young player, at least get a good one. Skill-wise, physically and in terms of understanding the game, Noel has improved very little since HS. I don’t want him. Swap Noel out for Okafor and I’d be more intrigued.

220ParticipantSaddled probably wasn’t the right term, but I don’t see the 76ers being interested in Rose of any of the Bulls players they’d acquire in this projected trade other than perhaps Mike Dunleavy. I highly doubt the 76ers would deal Okafor for scraps at this point. I like Taj Gibson, but assuming the 76ers take Ben Simmons and Dario Saric comes over then there won’t be many minutes for him. Dunleavy is useful but hardly worthy of Okafor. The 14th pick isn’t likely worth that much in this draft and Rose doesn’t make much sense for a rebuilding 76ers team. I don’t think the 76ers would make this trade if they had to give up Noel or Okafor to get it done.

terrancebowerParticipantIf the Bulls are eyeing 2 max free agents thissummer and need to clear the books while gaining an asset to build around with Butler. Still a pretty big risk though considering they aren’t linked to any big name free agents.

trombonematrix43ParticipantFrom what I’ve read this rumor has been nothing more than a “what if” scenario posed on 97.5. No real sources. At least, that’s what I’ve gathered from Bodner and Pavorsky tweets.

holefillers1ParticipantYou nailed it, Bodner was just on with Missanelli. Called it a blogger trade scenario that people ran with. Bodner also thinks Okafor is the better trade chip.

trombonematrix43ParticipantUnless Bodner/Pavorsky/one of the other writers I like on Liberty Ballers tweet about it/post about it I don’t take it seriously. They keep me sane through all of this chaos.

ditotayParticipantthis trade if it not involve our draft pick and the Sixers give us one of their draft picks.

MattP31ParticipantMakes no sense for either team. If Bulls want to blow it up trading for a guy about to need an extension and trading away a pick doesn’t make sense. Plus they would need a G more than a big. Sixers would be taking salary dumps in Rose and Gibson for pick 14 and giving up Noel.
Does the trade work? Sure. Would either team want to do something like that? Doubtful

MopgrassParticipantMaybe if the Sixers had another trade for a veteran lined up. Or another trade partner. Otherwise I’m not sure what they do with Gibson. If I’m the Sixers, I want a PG that isn’t ball dominant and can hit the 3 so Simmons can shine.

MopgrassParticipantThe Vertical claims there’s something going on centered around a Noel for Teague trade (obviously other pieces would be involved). Sounds like more the direction the Sixers need.

trelos6Participantinteresting idea. Salary dump for Bulls and Sixers get a look at Rose for a year. See if he can salvage anything.

tcc316Participanttrade makes no sense for the bulls. and if they make a move for any of those two it would be for okafor not noel. it would not include 14th pick. if they added a pick it would be for the rights to the pick owed to them by the kings. okafor for rose dunleavy angd the kings pick would be more reasonable.and then sixers might have to add a peice to even it out.
