Bazz

The Burke addition was a no brainer Im confident hell only rise as conf play starts. I anticipate Shabazz leaping back past McLenmore tho, just based on media familiarity but saying that Ben could emerge also. Love college ball.

I'm still disappointed not to

I'm still disappointed not to see BJ Young in the Mock, he is putting up 21ppg which screams I will declare this year.

SG

I didn't realize how good of a SG class there is this year, It's not really deep but top heavy/

1. Bazz (Athletic freak, Franchise player)
2. Ben McLemore (One word to describe him smooth, most likey why .net compares him to Ray Ray)
3. Archie Goodwin (Great slashing guard)

Also two very good combo guards in

1. Marcus Smart(I see him being used as like a Dion Waiters, Tyreke Evans, Playing the off guard but still having the ball alot)
2. Cj McCollum(Will be very useful in the nba playing that 6th man scorer ala Lou Will, Crawford)

The Bruins are a disaster,

The Bruins are a disaster, but Bazz is still the number one shooting guard for this class. McLemore has a long way to go before becoming a polished player. I'm fairly confident that he'll declare for the draft and capitalize on the weak crop this year, but he really should stay in Lawrence for a sophmore season.

Meanwhile, Bazz is on cruise control and is showing to be someone who can contribute right away in the league.

McLemore is 1 of the most

McLemore is 1 of the most exciting players in the country..And will be a lottery pick whenever he declares...But he's not that aggressive on offense, has average ball handling skills and has trouble creating his own plays.....I compare him to Jason Richardson,Richardson has had a good career, but it would've been so much better, if he had better ball handling skills......

Bazz is 20 lbs overweight and

Bazz is 20 lbs overweight and done nothing, at the college level, to convince me that he is an athletic freak, nor a franchise player at the NBA level. He looks, to me, like a guy like Barnes, who is productive, but overhyped because he's an athletic wing.

Yeah,Shabazz does look a bit

Yeah,Shabazz does look a bit heavy....Which might be affecting his performance.....But he will be better by the end of January...Hopefully by then UCLA will decide who is the best playmaker on the team.....Thats when this team will take off.....Drew is averaging 8 assists, but he's doing a poor job of getting the offense to run smoothly...

Top 5 for McLemore? I can

Top 5 for McLemore? I can understand top 10, but the 3rd pick? Honestly, I don't think so.

Shabuzz shouldn't have gone

Shabuzz shouldn't have gone to UCLA. It's the worst place to be as a guard to show off. He should have gone to UK or UNC, then we would be talking about 1st overall now.

UCLA system does not allow guards to display their talents. Jrue Holiday, Russell Westbrook, etc were all hidden while they played for UCLA.

UNC is not guard-friendly,

UNC is not guard-friendly, believe me. It's kind to PGs and big men, but not to wing players under Roy Williams. Barnes and Paul Pierce are two players whose stock fell and who were unimpressive in college under Williams and his system, Bazz wouldn't be doing any better there.

Bazz is out of shape but he

Bazz is out of shape but he showed how athletic he still is with his two hammer dunks he has had so far. Bazz is not a shooting guard thou, has a very hard time creating his own shot in the half court, not a consistant shooter, and can't go right. And anyone who has watched UCLA can see he gets most of his points from posting up and trying to over power players then go to the line when he gets fouled

You aren't missing anything, who ever said he hasn't been productive is clueless

If his best attribute

If his best attribute offensively is his ability to bully defenders, should he be playing SF where his size and strength are less of an advantage?

Wonder why they keep forgetting Anthony Bennett who has been the most dominate freshman so far

absolutely agree.. last year

absolutely agree..

last year at a very similar time Andre Drummond still was number 1(don't get me wrong i'm big time his fan and still hasn't changed my ming that he is the second best prospect from the draft, we facts is facts and he got drafted only 9th)
you would say it's crazy how Davis wasn't first after such a dominance from day one?how about he was actually 3rd at that time cause Lamb for about week was number 2 out there..

MKG was like late lottery pick at that time too..

not even to mention previous years, like Whiteside number2 Cousins out of lottery, Westbrook still unknown and so on..

The dude just has a long way

The dude just has a long way to go before he convinces me that he is a franchise player at the next level. Here is a picture of his protruding stomach. It never bodes well, IMO, if a kid shows up fat to come play basketball and is struggling with weight at 18 or 19. In all the interviews i've seen, he comes off like a good kid, but I never understand when you have the opportunity to be a top pick, that allow yourself to get fat.

http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=shabazz+muhammad+fat&source=image...

He can get by at the college level, but I don't know how anyone who has seen him play, this year, looks at him and says, this is a guy who will turn an NBA franchise around and be a team's star of the future. I think he should be a top 8 or 9 pick, he's got NBA size, can shoot, and can probably be a good 2nd option and 16-20 ppg socrer in the NBA. He reminds me of J.R. Rider more than anyone.

He may whip himself into shap by Jan and show his true potential, but as of now, he looks like a 2nd option in the NBA, not a #1 pick nor a franchise player.

Josh Selby was 20-25 lbs

Josh Selby was 20-25 lbs overweight at KU and got himself back into shape by the time pre-draft workouts came around.

No he wasn't. He was out of

No he wasn't. He was out of shape, in the fact that he didn't have game legs. I watch pretty much every KU game and he was not 20-25 lbs overweight in his first college game where he hit a game winner against USC. He was fit, just not in basketball shape.

Selby was an overhyped high school player, who's stock plummeted during the college season. I don't think he should be used as an example of hope for Shabazz getting into shape.

Ben McLemore physically is

Ben McLemore physically is exactly what an NBA SG is. I cant wait to see how he performs in the conference stretch. He really is very similar to a young Jason Richardson tho....

There are a lot of

There are a lot of similarities but one thing that McLemore has over JRich is a lightning first step off of the catch which I think will enable him to be a better slasher. He's also the more fluid, laterally quick athlete on defense. JRich was always a great athlete, but his footwork was a bit clunky. McLemore appears lighter on his feet.

From a purely movement

From a purely movement standpoint, take a look at footage of Jordan, in college. Obviously, I'm not saying he's the next Jordan, but they have athletic similarities.
