Looking at the Additions To the NorthWest Division alone( Jimmy Buckets, PG13, Millsap, Melo) Along with the talent already there ( Dame, CJ mccollum, Westbrook etc.) even Budging young stars( Jokic, Gobert, KAT, Wiggins etc)

The Northwest Division alone Could beat The Whole Eastern conference on Paper there’s Defintely More talent. Which brings me to this.

Instead of the Traditional East Vs West All star game. Do a 2 game Elimination style, Tournament amongst the 6 divisions spread out amongst All star weekend. The final game being held on Sunday. Maybe do the college style 20 minute halves instead of 12 min quarters.

There’s a couple ideas I had on voting but that would be a whole another discussion. But one idea is that all 6 teams must have at Least  2 rookies and 2 Sophmores to tag along to replace the rookie sophomore game. Thoughts??

It won’t ever happen, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a cool idea.

How does the elimination tournament work? Six teams reduces down to three teams. If it’s a round robin, that’s a lot of basketball to squeeze into a weekend.

It potentially could be a team playing twice in a Day maybe 3 in some instances. But you look at how many games these guys Play during the Summer Pro-Am, Pickup games and Basketball camps. Kinda like the same idea but with all the Energy and Attraction that All star weekend brings.

I think it’ll be interesting to see so many returning all-stars representing a new team for the first time:

    Kyrie Irving, Boston
    Gordon Hayward, Boston
    Jimmy Butler, Minnesota
    Paul George, Oklahoma City
    DeMarcus Cousins, New Orleans
    Chris Paul, Houston

    Potentially:
    Paul Millsap, Denver
    Dwight Howard, Charlotte

I think it’s a fun idea and certainly better than the joke of a game it currently is.

Another idea that might create some real competition is to put the "vets" against the "kids". Any player with 4 years of NBA experience or less vs. the rest.  Like the Olympic Select team against the Dream Team back in the day, the upstarts might play hungrily and the cagey veterans might want to show them who’s boss.  Who you got?

I really liked it when Chuck and Shaq picked their squads from the selected players.

    Like in this link  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPEwJ8pYyvw

What kind of teams would that create?

Also add a wildcard for a coaches pick, or expand to 15 players  for less minutes/wear.
