Vivid5292ParticipantI have personally been a Nets fan since 2000 and grew up with this team from Marbury to Kidd, Kidd to Harris and now Harris to Williams. We had Van Horn, Luscious Harris, Kittles, Jefferson, Martin. All of these good role players but ran into a wall because we didnt have a big man to challenge Duncan and Shaq in their primes. We had to suffer with Todd Macculloch and an older Mutombo. This trade reminds of the trade for Kidd & ironically Williams has similar basketball traits with Kidd seeing that that’s his favorite player. I’m very excited about this and I’m glad our owner is gangsta. Only gangstas pull trades off like this. Now we’re in good postion to pick up Dwight Howard when hes a free agent barring that Deron agrees to ententsion. Pairing him and Lopez together could be reminiscent of Robinson and Duncan or something of that sort. Deron will have what Kidd didn’t have and that’s a legit big man to contend. Hopefully Brook gets his rebounding together. Just wondering and thinking about the future. Great move in my mind. What do you guys think will happen?

Lotto StudParticipantI love the acquisition, but it will be pointless if we go through the "Melo sh*t"…….I think DWill will bring the best out of Lopez on the offensive end. I just would like for us to get more marquee pieces on our squad before He even gets near summer of 2012.

flyakkParticipantwhen brook lopez start rebounding and getting some second chance looks here and there then the nets would be a much better team..its like he can’t rebound a basketball for nothing. when was the last time he achieved a double double

Vivid5292ParticipantI don’t think Coach Sloan’s toughness was so much the problem. They said Deron was complaining about how he wouldn’t coach the team the same way he coached Stockton and Malone’s teams. Avery Johnson has something to prove and I think that he’ll work well with Deron for that exact reason. SIDE NOTE: I just saw that the Nets also got former 3rd overall pick Brandan Wright; the forward out of Carolina who "had" major upside. I think this will be big for him & the Nets if they give him good minutes to show his worth. He also has a chance to redeem himself for the next season & a half. I think he’ll work well with Brook for now but we’ll see what happens.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think it has nothing to do with Sloan and Williams as much as their team really not syncing. Sloan was just getting old and did not like dealing with the younger generation players. Boozer screwed them over. AK regressed after getting paid because they sent him to the bench. I think he should have retired before this season and at least went out gracefully. The team is trying to boost up Hayward and it appears a lot of the guys on the team including Deron Williams was not happy with that. I think there are a lot of politics going on in Utah and that was the problem.

SwatLakeCityParticipantSurprised me. Did not expect the jazz to make a move until the offseason. Wasn’t expecting them to move Dwill until next year maybe not at all. I guess I’ll find out today how well Favors and Harris will work for Utah. But I’m very happy about the two lottery picks Utah gets.

sheltwon3ParticipantUtah needs those picks because they have trouble signing other teams free agents without overpaying them. Also I am sure NJ and GSW can live with them picking Haywards and the Koufas guy type player with those picks lol. Outside of Williams and AK, I can not remember Jazz doing much with their first picks but then again they rarely had high draft picks. GSW pick should be in the 8 to 14 range. NJ pick could be in the 6 to 10 range next season.

I May Be WrongParticipantIs there still a possibility that "What if Deron Williams doesn’t sign an extension and bolts out of NJ next season?"

SwatLakeCityParticipantIts possible.
And Rudeboy, that just goes to show you that Utah Management doesn’t really have a good handle with their players. They sort of handle their team like a third wheel. They accompany them but when they do they just sit and watch and not offer any comment or even talk with a player or two after a practice. I don’t even think they pull a player aside and talk to him about his name being on the trade block or their situation with the team right now. They need to change how they handle things. They should be involved with the team more.

flyboyParticipantIs incomplete, as it all depends on if the Nets build a good enough squad to be relevant and entice Williams to stay in NJ. If D-Will chooses not to sign an extension with the Nets, that means you’ve traded the PF and potential face of your franchise, and current face of your franchise, for nothing. But right now, it’s an exciting time for NJ fans because finally people are talking about your team in a light that isn’t completely negative, and you have a legit #1 player in Williams.

CodySLCParticipantI hope he doesnt screw over your guys fan base. Like every athlete he says what people wanna hear. But ive been watching him in Utah from day one, and he’s got a crappy attitude, and he’s no were near the leader i see Kidd being. Hopefully you guys can build around he and Lopez, but outside of them you guys some major role players. But the furture does look bright.
