NETS fans rant with me!

this team is such a mess to watch, no one can catch the ball clean, there is no spacing on the floor guys are just standing around running into eachother. since last season, avery johnson has not had a starting lineup that he stuck with for more than a week stretch. this team is awful to watch! allowing 50% plus for opponents from 3. last 3 games avery has started deron at sg and insists on starting gaines.

gaines is a back up pg at best. i like his attack mode but bring that in when deron is taking a breather. morrow, james, shawne williams, have no handles and the back up big men of sheldon williams, petro can not catch the ball. i would not blame deron for leaving this mess. devin harris admited that the losing with us took a serious toll on him as a player and can see it happening to deron if he has to endure a full season with this team. even with the hype about brooklyn, this type of play will make any player become disenchanted with the idea of a NY centered franchise.

I think i have 95% gave up

I think i have 95% gave up being a fan of the nets, the other 5% is only there because they're still in NJ. To put it straight i haven't even watch one whole game yet, since it seems like there getting blown out right out of the gate

Deron Williams is leaving after this season there is no question about that unless they get howard or another star player(not happening) We don't even have enough good assists to make a trade for a star player. Heres what we SHOULD have done.

1. Rewind back to the melo trade, after we lose out on melo(thank god we did..sorry i didnt want him or dwill), we should have stayed put on trying to acquire a star instead we should have traded Harris, along with humphris.

2. Develop young players such as Lopez,Favors, and our draft pick to be last season and developed through the draft and key fa signing(minor ones but enough to add depth).

If we would have went that route we would have a better record right now(playoff bound??Probably not but a much better record). Now instead of having patience and taking the smart route we decided to follow the trend of teams and have made a horrible roster, horrible record, horrible fa signings, and probably will have a new head coach(not his fault) soon who won't make much difference because they roster is so weak(and even weaker after dwill leaves). Billy King is doing a horrible job to as gm just like he did with the sixers. This team as you said is a mess and sadly may eventually break or qualify for beating the 12-70 record for years to come if they keep this up.

Did Brook lopez sign an extension yet???if not i wouldn't be suprised if he leaves too.

Issues

He can't stick with a starting lineup because of the injuries to Humphries and Lopez.

The problem last night was just poor shooting. They certainly outhustled the Pacers, and, if they were at full strenght, would have probably come away with that game.

Admittedly, it’s a hard sell

Admittedly, it’s a hard sell at first. After all, this new group of Mavericks is made up largely of cast-offs who don’t have a championship ring among them. It’s a far cry from the familiar faces who defined the Mavericks for much of the last five seasons and won a championship just over a year ago.

When the Mavericks chose not

When the Mavericks chose not to re-sign DeShawn Stevenson after the championship year, they lost a degree of toughness and relentless defensive intensity. This summer they got some of that back in the person of Dahntay Jones, who has played that very role for the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers before landing in Dallas.

Adding this new mix of

Adding this new mix of particularly motivated NBA veterans to a group that already consists of all-world power forward Dirk Nowitzki, the ultimate x-factor in Shawn Marion, the still capable Vince Carter, and a nice mix of young talent certainly creates an interesting team on paper. It was difficult, sitting at the press conference, looking at this group, hearing them talk, envisioning this new team, not to start to feel something special in the air.

“He’s been a lot more focused this summer,” Petrie said. “Part of it is maturing as a player. You kind of forget that he is only 22 years old. He’s definitely put in more work and concentration in trying to improve parts of his game. He wants to be thought of as one of the best players in the league.”

DeMarcus Cousins: It’s past

DeMarcus Cousins: It’s past time for Cousins to start being mentioned as one of the top five centers in the NBA. He’s one of the most misunderstood and underrated players in the league. Just look at the 180 degree turn USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo did on Cousins after actually dealing with him to get an idea of how inaccurately portrayed he is. He may have some maturing to do, but what 22-year-old doesn’t? Of course, most of them aren’t 6’11 with the ability to provide 20 points and 10 rebounds a night for the next decade like Cousins can. Most teams in the league would kill to have a "problem" like Cousins. Fact is, he’s a much more difficult problem for opposing teams to handle than he is for the Kings.

No one around the league

No one around the league doubts our individual talent. But before we can be taken seriously as a threat to the rest of the conference, we have to make a strong commitment to being a team. Everyone, from DeMarcus to Isaiah, will be asked to sacrifice parts of their game for the betterment of the group. Winning games must be the priority over comfort, stats and fame. If we put our emphasis from the start on making simple, winning plays, this team has the chance to be very good. But we must focus on growing as a group, not just as individuals.

“I’m not trying to replace Jason Kidd,” said Collison. “That’s tough to do. I thought he was a great player for this organization, but I just plan to be myself. I was brought here for a reason. Some of the things that I want to bring are an up-tempo style, energy, defense, and whatever I can do to help out these guys. I’m just excited to be here.”

But Colangelo didn’t rule out the team actively seeking trade offers for Calderon with Lowry now in the fold. Calderon, a low turnover guard, is in the last year of a contract which will pay him $10.6 million in 2013 – a deal which could bring tremendous value near the trade deadline.42141212412

Let’s be clear, Tyreke Evans,

Let’s be clear, Tyreke Evans, the former Rookie of the Year, has game. But, the problem plaguing Evans isn’t about overall talent or ability. Evans hasn’t been able to find his niche at the pro level as the Sacramento Kings have tried to utilize him at point guard, shooting guard and small forward without finding the right fit.

Not surprisingly, Evans’ future with the organization has come into the question and he’s been the subject of an assortment of trade rumors over the past season. Evans could potentially be a free agent next summer, but the Kings could choose to lock him up to a multiyear deal before letting the guard hit the open market.532324

“I don’t think it’s something on the front burner at this point,“ Petrie told Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports. “Going forward salary cap-wise, we have a lot of flexibility. There are no real concerns about our ability to pay going forward because of our future numbers. The most important thing in the big picture is that Tyreke takes his game to another level. The reward for that is ultimately what’s greater in a lot of respects.”2134124

“Eventually something would happen,” Evans said. “I’m just trying to do whatever I can to get us rolling this year. I’ve been working on my game. I got a lot to prove. The most important thing is I’m a lot better than I was last year. I’ve been receiving a lot of criticism about not being healthy and not playing like I did my rookie year. Williams, the No. 22 overall pick of the 2010 draft, has been oft-injured since entering the league. The guard missed his entire rookie season recuperating from knee surgery on both knees. Last season Williams appeared in only 24 games before being forced to shut it down due to a shoulder injury which also required surgery.24123124

Once upon a time, Green was considered arrogant, but obviously he’s come a long way since being drafted by Boston in 2005. “For me to be a part of this team, this organization, this history and the way that they’re going into the future, it’s unexplainable… I couldn’t ask better than being here.”

The Pacers couldn’t ask for better either. When all is said and done, $3.5 million a year for a young man this decent and this talented could prove to be one of the better values of the 2012 crop of free agents.lyuiot87
