Chilbert arenasParticipantHe couldn’t put any pressure on it at all and his teammates had to carry him off the floor, he must have torn something. Tough day for UK fans and Noel. I really hope he didn’t tear it for his NBA future but it didn’t look good.

arctuk02Participantthat looked terrible man..

For_Never_EverParticipantNerlens Noel could have just tore his ACL. He is on floor yelling from pain.

akhan786ParticipantI absolutely hate it when this happens…especially to kids who haven’t signed a NBA contract yet.
Prayers out to Nerlens.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantFor a guy that relied on his explosiveness and athleticism, this could be devastating…hopefully with medical advances he can come back 100%.

KHAM83ParticipantAnother reason not to force them to play in college.
If he doesnt play again for the season- is he still a top 5 pick?
Does Willie Cauley-Stein take advantage of this?0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 4:13pm #746867
M-EazyParticipantMay be too early for this, but what if the ACL is torn? Do yall still see him going to draft or coming back for soph season?

LazarusMunozParticipantHate Kentucky, but you never wanna see this kinda thing happen to anyone…Hope its not as serious as everyone thinks it is… He’s way too talented to have something like this limit his career.

AwardedBallerParticipantI prayyyyyy he can make a 100% recovery it’s really bad seeing players so skilled or anybody for that matter go down with an injury so bad they cannot walk. He has such a bright future, I really hope this isn’t anything to bad.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 4:21pm #746872
Lebron’s HairlineParticipantNot good for a guy who’s game is built around athleticism, hope he comes back 100%
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 4:32pm #746885
Chilbert arenasParticipantNo way does he come back for sophomore year. He would go through all that rehab to risk it again? He’s trying to get as much guarenteed money ASAP.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 5:23pm #746921
MalcolmxParticipantThis is why I never agree when people say that a player should come back another year. Millions to move your family out of poverty is enough to make a person forgo the extra year of college ball.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 5:27pm #746924
Lebron’s HairlineParticipantYes but not everyone is poor that’s stereotypical, Shabazz Muhammad’s and Austin Rivers family is rich but they didn’t stay; I agree with helping yor family but lets not put the poor label on every one and done
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 7:01pm #746955
MalcolmxParticipant@lebron’s Hairline your absolutely right bruh. I’m talking about the one’s who are poor. Like Noel’s family lives off low level income and neither of his parents were born in America. He is like his Mom and Pop’s great hope. Get what I’m saying. For the rich young fella’s I guess their argument would be a lot different.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s an ACL tear. You can tell by the way his knee awkwardly buckled as it hit the pad.
I feel for him. I never wish that injury on anyone. The worst pain I’ve ever felt. Even though it’s a torn ligament in your knee, your whole entire leg feels like it’s throbbing. It’s throbbing so bad, you can feel each surge of pain shooting through your body.
I hope everyone got a good look at him because we won’t see him on the floor again until Dec – Jan.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI agree with you 100%, I don’t blame kids that leave for that guaranteed contract to help their family, I was just stating that not all one and dones are poor and rather coast through college then leave for the good life while guys like Noel play for a purpose.

JoeyGladstoneParticipant - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 8:52pm #747007
TheLastWordParticipantYeah thats an acl and probably mcl as well anytime you see a harsh angle like that. A sad day.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/12/2013 - 8:57pm #747013
MajaFiggazParticipantThis is just ugly, His knee is lower leg is damn near at a 90 degree angle sideways. While you hope for the best, seeing this pic, we all know any optimistic diagnosis is a pipe dream. I just hope the young fella can make a full recovery. Damn shame. This is sure to reopen up the discussion of prep-to-pros.

IndianaBasketballParticipantDamn… Looking at it from that angle, I wouldn’t be surprised if he tore his ACL, MCL and did some damage to his meniscus.

benny15Participantaccording to that, x-rays comes out as negative which is a positive sign, but its really the MIR later on that would be the true reveal.

According to the UK medical staff, surgery should be expected in the next two to three weeks. The normal timetable for recovery is estimated at six to eight months.

TallmanNYCParticipantAny chance he just decides to come out anyway and enter the draft? He was a solid one and done, right? Would a team still draft him in the top ten even without workouts and seeing his recovery just based on what he did to date? I mean 4 blocks and 2 steals per game is kind of sick. Throw in the good FG%, rebounding that blows away most folks rookie year numbers, and do you really need to see more?

IndianaBasketballParticipant“Prognosis for Nerlens Noel return is 6-8 months”
That’s a joke. 8 months MINIMUM, but I can’t see that happening. He’ll be back in 9-10 months. We won’t see him until Dec or Jan.
