Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWarriors eye Nene
Carmelo Anthony is not the only player on the Nuggets that is drawing interest around the NBA. Marcus Thompson II of The Oakland Tribune reports the Golden State Warriors have inquired about Nene Hilario‘s availability.
The Warriors are looking for a low-post scorer and Nene would give them something they’re not getting from David Lee or Andris Biedrins.
Nene, like Anthony, has an early termination option in his contract and can become a free agent in July. The Warriors would want Nene to sign an extension, if they were able to acquire him.
Lee, Biedrins and Brandan Wright say they could give the team more scoring in the post, if they were given the chance.
"Collectively, I would say yes we could do it," Biedrins said. If you just give us the opportunities, we can prove we don’t need it."
"You really have to ask Coach Smart why I couldn’t help the team out in that (area)," said Wright. "I guess I’m not the man for the job right now. I could easily produce. I’m in the best shape of my life. I feel good about my game."
Nene is averaging 15.3 points and shooting an NBA-best 64.4 percent from the floor.

justincParticipantfcuk beans, he has no hands to play the post, id be so happy if the warriors could get nene in the post. then from there draft a solid sf, move wright to the bench, maybe sign 2 FA’s and id say we have a playoff team.

nateoak10ParticipantI think with our center we need 2 things a guy capable of scoring down low and someone who can anchor the paint on defense. He solves half our problems but seeing him tonigt makes me really want him. But I’d want him on his current contract and instead of a extension just picking up his player option cause his extension would be a crap load of money for us to take on considering Lee just signed for 80 mil andd Stef will need a new contract soon.
His rebounding also concerns me since he’s rebounds like a mid range PF when he’s a low post center. And No Andris, you can’t score in the post, keep to wide open dunks please. Overall though I have no idea what we could offer them, we’d have to jump in a 3 way deal and trade all our expirings and just take him back or something like that

nateoak10Participantand stayed aggresive we could be the 8th seed . But if we could add say Nene then maybe a 6th man wing guy like JRich, Afflolo or someone like that we’d be a playoff team imo. Now if we could luck out and get a top 5 pick I’d be stressed our between taking Jonas, Kanter and Terrence Jones. All fit needs for us

ilike.panochasParticipantIt really shows how much Baron Davis made the Warriors and his team mates better during his tenure with GS. He made Biedris an effective player and Biedris has never been the same since Davis left. Biedris has been in the league for 5 years now and still has zero post moves, the Warriors are going to just swallow that fat contract because I don’t see him getting better.

OhCanada-ParticipantGive us Beidrins!! We will trade you Barbosa whos an expiring contract! At least he rebounds and blocks shots…
I remember in the beggining of the year Smart was running the offense through Lee and they were surprisingly having alot of success. Why did he go away from that, Ellis was dropping huge numbers, Wright hitting big time threes, and the game was alot slower allowing them to set on defense alot better.

OhCanada-ParticipantIn principal alone I should give you a negative on that joke, but it was so corny I have to give you a positive. Damn my inferior sense of humour!
