I’m going to focus on non-blue chippers/top prospects because there’s less consensus and I have a soft spot for the unsung prospects.

-Mike Daum (SDSU)- 6’9" with decent length, limited athleticism, limitless range, a quick trigger, and offensive court savvy for days. Depending on how he can switch out onto the perimeter, I believe he’ll have a solid NBA career as shooter off the bench.

-Rodney Bullock (Providence)- Great size and length for a sf that can play the 4. I like his development throughout his five years and he seems like a great team player. His age will hurt his stock but he will definitely be on a summer league and have a legit shot at a camp invite.

-Jared Terrell (Rhode Island)- 6’3" combo guard with solid athleticism, very good strength, and a pretty complete offensive game with limitless range and an adequate handle. I doubt he gets drafted, but he should do well in summer league and have a shot at camp. I’m guessing he’ll be a g-league stud and wind up on a two way contract before long.

-Jon Elmore (Marshall)- Range for days, tight handle with excellent footwork, decent size but underwhelming athleticism. He’s such a student of the game and heady competitor that I won’t doubt his ability to have a solid NBA career.

-Ajdin Penava (Marshall)- Nation’s leading shot blocker at 6’9" with a monstrous wingspan and impeccable timing. Shows plenty of offensive potential with his solid shooting/range/touch/form to go with his fluid athleticism and budding ball handling ability. Somebody form the forum made a post about him earlier in the season and they were definitely on to something and ahead of the curve. Might be my favorite prospect on this list.

-Rob Gray (Houston)- Can really fill it up but is a bit undersized for an NBA 2. I’m not sure what i think of his NBA prospects, but at the very least he will be filling it up for a Euro team for years to come.

-Nevada trio: Martin Twins and Kendall Stephens- All three are 6’7" with very good length and shooting ability. Cody Martin is the best defender, Caleb the best all around offensively, and Stephens is the best shooter. All three are transfers from big time programs, NC state and Purdue, and all three have drastically improved their play at nevada. Tourney success could go a long way in legitimizing or validating their success at the mid major level.

-Trayveon Reed (Texas Southern)- Auburn transfer that’s 7’2" with a lot of length and some fluid athleticism. Doesn’t seem to have the best motor and I haven’t seen much development, but I figured his physicality and athleticism garnered a mention.

-Jemarrio Jones (NMSU)- One of the best pound for pound rebounders you’ll ever see at this level. Had a streak of 3 straight 20 rebound games earlier in the season despite only being 6’5". I don’t think his pro prospects are great, but he’s such a unique and exciting player that I wanted to give him a mention.

I’m missing plenty of players and really didn’t touch on any power 5 teams player’s but feel free to do so. Who are you guys keeping an eye on? Who has caught your eye? How do you think things will play out for some of these guys?

    – Carsen Edwards with Haas out has all the freedom to go ballistic in this tourney. Can create his own shot at will, just a tad inconsistent.

    – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander can honestly vault himself into the top 5 maybe top 7 pick if Kentucky makes the final 4. He along with Knox are carrying that team, and wth Zona and UVA out, they have a huge chance of making a big run.

YES!! I was just about to post about Ajdin Penava on another thread and read your comments. Impressed with what I saw and then went and checked out some of his highlights on youtube and I’m actually kind of surprised he’s not a second round projection in either the ’18 or ’19 drafts. I’d take him over half the guys on the second round lists right now.

To me,  he’s a potential 3 and D guy at the 4 and can pass a little as well. Seems like a prospect to me. Maybe I’m missing something.

Jairus Lyles – Just had the game of his life in one of the most historic games in NCAA history. He’s quick and dynamic, crafty around the rim with great do-ordination and body control. Could be getting looks in the second round if he follows up with similar play against K-State.

Zhaire Smith- 6’5 210-G- Texas Tech

Great feel for the game on both ends of the floor. Super athletic and effecient which is a rare combo. Special defensive instincts gets alot of blocks on that end. Should easily be able to fit a Danny Green type role in the NBA but has much more upside. Shoots 56% FG, 42% 3PT. Hasnt even turned 19 yet.

Stanford didn’t make the Tournament, but Reid Travis is a guy that’s underrated. Reminds me of Thomas Robinson. Not as athletic as Robinson, but similar style of play. Was given an extra year by NCAA.But if he declares could be a 2nd Round pick and have a solid career.

Zach Norvelle the redshirt freshman point guard from Gonzaga looks Promising. Tough kid, put up some nice numbers this season.

I’d say he is more of an off-guard

He’ll definitely be a guy to watch for next season

He hasn’t shown to be a true point guard this season, but he’s also the only guard on the squad that can REALLy create their own shot. Perkins can knock shots down but he’s not explosive off the dribble like Norvelle. I won’t write him off as a point guard yet but definitely am looking forward to watching him next year. He’s so dynamic as a scorer that he may wind up having to be score first the rest of his college career, but I don’t think that means he can’t necessarily become a true point guard.

Okay, so after watching Marshall play West Va. I kinda see why their players aren’t really thought of as NBA prospecets. Not physical or strong enough. They have some ability, but an NBA front line is going to run over Penava and Elmore was exposed big time. Nice college players though. Going to have to really work on their body and game in the minor leagues to crack an NBA rotation.
