BiggysmallsParticipantKansas is fine. He plays like 15 minutes a game and isn’t really that productive if you factor the hype he had coming in. Could be because Kansas guards aren’t very good, but he also has no skill. Dude’s probably gonna enter the draft too for some ungodly reason.

ChewyParticipantwould be that he is still going to be picked in the first round. Is he ready for the NBA? Hell no. But he has the size, strength and athleticism. Plus he tries to dunk on everyone, all the time.
Why would you not want him as an NBA coach? They can teach him skills, they can’t teach players to not be soft or not be 6’7.

ChewyParticipanthe is Bismack Biyombo RIGHT NOW. That is good enough to be a bench big in the NBA. Add 2 consistant post moves to that over the next 4 years and he is an NBA starter.

Mr. HookShotParticipantGadzuric was a little bit taller as I remember, and actually contributed for some time for an actual NBA team.

BiggysmallsParticipantI wouldn’t want to spend a first round pick on him if I’m an NBA coach. Maybe after he does something in college. I get that players can improve, but I’d like to see a kid do something, anything in college before thinking he can contribute at a higher level. Maybe I haven’t seen enough Kansas but he doesnt strike me as an athletic marvel. He’s big, strong, and can do nothing but dunk. I’m just not an Alexander fan at this point…I expected more from the 3rd rated recruit in the country I guess.

oc1234ParticipantThis guy has no business in the NBA. He’s not more athletic than anybody in the NBA and his skills are not refined enough to be give any contribution.

For_Never_EverParticipantHaving good athleticism and hops is a good start, but what else can he do ?
He is undersized, I’m thinking 6’7 without shoes. I consider him a pretty good athlete, however not elite.

JoeWolf1He’s about the same size as Julius Randle according to his Hoop Summit measurements last season. He’s not a guy with great NBA size, but he’s not exactly tiny either.
Listen, in the one and done era, Alexander isn’t a guy who could just come in and bully his way to a 20/10 season, but you guys are acting like the guy sucks, and KU won’t miss his presence.
He’s incredibly productive when he’s on the court, and averages 16.1 ppg 12 rpg and 2.9 bpg per 40 minutes, while shooting 56% from the field and 67% from the line. He just happens to play on a deep team, with a coach who will sit him out if someone else has the hot hand.
Cliff has really had some good moments this season, including 9 and 8 in only 20 minutes vs Kentucky. 13 and 13 against OU, 12 and 10 against Florida, and 15 and 9 against Texas. Although he’s not a top level NBA prospect, he’s a guy who Kansas will greatly miss if he’s out the rest of the season. He’s their top rim protector, and per minute offensive rebounder.
No, he’s not a guy who would play a lot as a rookie if he were to leave this season, but I think he’s still worth a look in the 20’s. He’s a tough kid, and kid is the key word. He has a surprisingly good FT shot, and although his jumper isn’t game ready, that kind of 15 foot accuracy is a good sign for a 19 year old PF.

username_takenParticipantHe needs more time to develop, and if he improves over the next few years, he could be a high draft pick in a future class

BiggysmallsParticipantJoeWolf put it well, he’s a nice college player. Nowhere near living up to his status as a top 3 recruit but certainly not useless for a Kansas team that lacks the top end talent they’ve had in previous years. Anyone who is saying he hasnt been disappointing is kidding themselves though, or trying to get into the kids entourage.
He’s had nice moments, but he’s scored in double figures like 7 times all year. Sure he hasn’t played many minutes but isnt that part of it? Why doesn’t he play more minutes? Its not like he’s playing behind Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles and Karl Towns…Perry Ellis is good (maybe even really good) but Jamari Traylor and Landen Lucas/Hunter Michelson are not. Not saying that kid can’t ever become good or be a valuable piece for a team with high aspirations…but to this point, he’s been a disappointment and a big one at that.
