No-one wants to talk about the hard facts associated with the NBL.

The league has 1 team. The Perth Wildcats. Everyone else is just making up the numbers and is broke A$$.

Letting New Zealand play in our league is basically just for giggles. Kinda like the Washington Generals.

Nonetheless, the sport in Australia is about to blow up.

Mike Visenberg won’t even show himself on this forum anymore because he’s realised I was right all along about the talent of the next Aussie generation. Rumor has it that he’s gone into scouting peewee hockey talent in Calgary.

Hopefully, the success of our high-end talent will translate into success for the NBL and a few of these other perenniel losers can draw a decent crowd.

On a day when Ive come under fire for presenting misinformation to the forum…

This kiwi fraud is blatantly adding rings that his team didnt win.

Im not angry at that though….

I’m just annoyed that all the foreign aid we are sending to improve numeracy and literacy rates in NZ is bearing such poor results.

All you gotta do is Google search NZ Breakers and it shows NBL championships in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015… I honestly can’t tell if you were taking the piss with that comment.

             You see…its like this.

NBL Salaries are so low that they hardly cover the cost of living in Australian Citys…thus making it hard for teams like Sydney and Melbourne to compete for talent. It barely covers the cost of rent.

But because the NZ peso is so cheap, the same NBL salary will allow Kiwi NBL players to live like Allan Iverson in his prime.

Thats why letting NZ play in our league is just for giggles.

              1. Doesn’t change the fact that the Breakers won those championships

              2. The Breakers mostly live in Auckland which has similar if not higher living costs to most big Australian cities

              3. Playing for giggles implies that the team is going to lose most games

I’m a big basketball fan and lived in Brisbane all my life.  I only found out the Brisbane Bullets were back in the competition last week after my brother sent me a snapchat of him at their preseason game.  Tells you all about you need to know about the NBL.

I used to follow the Falcons back in the days when Ben Simmons’ dad played there. Then they became the Pirates, then got moved to Singapore I think. I’d stopped watching by then. Mostly because I couldn’t watch games on free-to-air television like what r377 was saying. The NBL is its own worst enemy. I follow results on fox sports and stuff like that but because I can’t watch games I lose interest. Believe it or not non Aussies, but the NBA has better coverage in Australia than the NBL.

I guess I follow the Kings a bit now, but that’s only because they’re the closest club to where I live. Bring back a Newcastle franchise and I’ll actually go to games.

I don’t watch any of the NBL but I watch highlights on the news. I am a Breakers supporter because I am a kiwi.

I saw a few of the Breakers at the airport a 3 weeks ago when I was flying out to Chile, only Alex Pledger made me feel short.

One of the players was Mika Vukona, Hypes favorite player from NZ.
