While I'm here, I'll just clarify that there are no specific guidelines to the categories. That's why I nominated McBased is the top newbie. Hottest in the Office is whatever you want it to mean. I think M-Dymes is the only person creative enough to leave a real answer, as apb540's Philly girl avatar is pretty hot. marcusfizer21 won last year after his lude email scandal, so that's why he's a popular nominee.
Don't worry Riley, I'm sure somebody will eventually nominate you for something, maybe.

Personally, is is really hard to choose candidates on this website. I feel everyone has something to contribute in a positive manner.
For example:

I just find it hard to choose one lol
Smartest User: I chose BTPH, but again a lot of great posters. II Perez, all the users I mentioned on Forum MVP.
Other great posters: OhCanada, I may be BASED, TOL-23, ScottOant, M-Dymes is definitely underrated, RudeBoy, DanEboy, Universal, magikknick, 8th deadly sin, the list can go on and on.
I had a hard time making my list, and after it was done, I realized I had left people off who I respect a lot as posters (M DYMES is a poster who I think has improved and has always been pretty strong). I have to admit, some posters I do not really know that well, even if they have a lot of points. Those that I have not really had much interaction with or topics that I can recall vividly, than you more than likely got left off.
If you are not afraid to make your opinion and you give a well backed-up reason for having it, than I more than likely like you as a poster. You do not have to write a lot, but content is incredibly important to me. We all seem to have different major interests about what we talk about on here, even where basketball is concerned.
We have the people that love history, people that want to compare or get comparisons for players, guys who are dying to find a trade to make their team better and guys who want to share something basketball related that they think the rest of the community digs. It feels like their are only a few active posters, but when you really think about it, their are hundreds who have at some time been a regular on here. Well, regardless, I think these awards are meant to be in good fun and if you are not mentioned, that does not mean you are not important. Keep posting, keep learning and keep this the best basketball community I know of on the internet.
Just wanted to say thanks for the mentions, it's hard to interact with the community due to the 12 hour time difference a lot of the time, so it's cool people even know who I am.

IMO, JNixon and Perez are 2 of my favorite posters, even though JNixon and I have had debate after debate, but personally, the most knowledgable AND newcomer goes to sure. Dude really knows his basketball whether it's oldschool or present era.
BTW, I meant surve. But he actually has been posting the past fews weeks. And it's not really his fault he hasn't had as much time to post, I mean, I usually post daily but have been working mon-fri 5pm to 5am, besides, when he does post they're terrific.
I think he's talking about me nominating him; was basing it off our little debate in the ACC thread preview, it's more of a return to form than a "most improved" I suppose, I was just reminded you know ball when you're being serious haha, thought it was worthy of a nomination.
I think ItsDwightHoward is an underrated poster...Not many people mention him...But he knows his stuff...
1 thing that Confuses alot of voters is that some guys have changed their names so many times its hard to remember who they were....
I probably will leave some deserving names of this list...since I am not as familar with everyone as people who have been at this site longer than me...but...it is a democracy....so....here's my vote:

Well, thanks mate. Just thought the circumstances were a bit humorous. Also, I'd hardly call what happened in my ACC Preview a "debate". The term "debate" should be reserved for dealings with Quincey exclusively.
