ESPNs John Hallinger’s odds to win NBA title:

    1 CHI 28.1%

    2 LAL 19.1%

    3 DEN 12.8%

    4 MIA 11.2%

    5 BOS 5.7%

    6 ORL 5.2%

    6 SA 5.2%

    8 DAL 4.0%

    9 OKC 3.3%

With no homecourt advantage is there any chance they beat OKC, SA and LAL in 7 game series? Theyve been playing great without Melo and are a better team now but I dont think those are good odds

Im rooting for my hometown Sixers, Chicago or Denver to take the title.  I always liked the Bulls and love the way they are playing, but to see the Nuggs take a title after trading Melo would be sick.  Show the world that you don’t need superstars, or a trio of them for that matter, to win a title.  It about the team, and this is the deepest team in the league by far IMO.

His daily power rankings are a joke. The guy does not even watch basketball. He just uses math equations to try and predict winners, and it’s a downright joke..

How could Denver be 3rd in line to win the title? I would bet my house that they will be eliminated in the first round, probably in 4 if not 5 games.   How can Chicago who has never won a playoff series have a 30 percent chance to win it all? But Boston who has won the title or been in the title game like 3 of the last 4 years be only 5 percent? How could Miami only be 11 percent?   This guy is an absolute bum!!!!  Denver has a better chance to win than Miami? That is just silly.. Not even worth arguing over.

I think I predicted the Bulls to win it earlier in the year I forget thou. Ive always liked this teams build. They are legit contenders, Rose is going to go into another stage come Playoff time, its going to be scary.

I am pretty sure you predicted the Raptors would go 60-22 , and win it all. If I remember correct.

Denver is playing well right now, becuz they’re sharing and moving the ball around..

But come playoff time when you need that special player that can hit big shots against great defensive teams they dont have that guy…

Very well said my friend.   I totally agree with you… In the regular season you can win games by playing team basketball (duh) , but when it comes down to playoffs I think it’s impossible to win without a superstar.

Lets all cheer for rudeboy cuz he finally figured out how to comment instead of just using the subject as his comment. YEAH. lol, Just kidding, man

I personally gaurantee the Lakers, Celtics, Thunder, Bulls, Heat and Spurs, all have better odds at winning the championship than Denver does. They are good and playing very well right now but the season does not mean a thing come playoff time. The Lakers, Celtics, Thunder, Bulls, and Heat will all kick it up a notch and will play at a higher level then they ever have. They will be playing at a level the Nuggets can not. The Nuggets might get past first round but’s that’s as far as they’ll be going. Especially if they’ll have to play the Lakers or the Spurs in the second round which is very likely.

Denver is most certainly capable of beating OKC in the first round.  In fact, I’ll take "UCLA86’s" action and bet against OKC.  I think Denver wins in 6.

Portland is also going to upset in the first round.  They’ll beat Dallas in 5 or the Lakers in 7… and if Portland slides to eighth… they’ll beat the Spurs in 7.  Since Portland picked up Wallace they are a completely different team.  They believe in themselves and their players fit well together. Could you imagine if Oden was healthy?

The Sixers and Celtics… still feels like the Celtics, but Collins has the Sixers playing the same style of team ball that the Celtics implement and the Sixers have better athletes.  The Celtics have been just over a .500 team over the last 25 games.  This has happened before going into the playoffs but with all their big men either injured, banged up or fat and slow they have a real weakness… and their bench is VERY average.  I still like the Celtics to win a hard fought series but its not a sure thing.

Denver sucks on the road, so I don’t know how they have such high odds to win the title.

You watch no more basketball than Hollinger if you would bet your house that Denver, the league’s top team since trading Melo, will lose in the first round.  I know you are exagerating, but, seriously, Denver has played phenomenally lately.  I don’t think they are third in line to win the championship; I think they will lose in the second round, but don’t belittle Denver’s play.

So Rose is like 7th on his list for the MVP but he has the Bulls head and shoulders above everyone else on winning the whole damn thing. Rose is far and away the best player on that team.

Hollinger is a retard and I can’t believe anyone buys into anything he says.
