slash787ParticipantHere is a breakdown of day 4 of the NBA Summer League
http://www.beforethescore.com/nba-summer-league-2014.html
Aaron Gordon - In 3 summer league games Gordon has failed to crack double digit scoring in any of them. Today in 25 minutes of action he was 0-3 with 2 points, 2 turn overs and a DONUT HOLE in all other categories. Gordon was outplayed by fellow rookie Jarnell Stokes throughout the entire game. We like Gordon long term but this season he is going to have little fantasy value. Gordon will have a few nice games but he cannot score the basketball at this point of his career and needs to seriously work on his shot.
JaKarr Sampson – This is probably a flash in the pan but JaKarr had the best overall game from an efficiency and numbers stand point today. He only played 18 minutes and ended up with 13 points, 8 reb, 2 ast, 3 stls, 2 blk on 5-5 from the field. He did have 3 turn overs and was 2-6 from the line. The St. Johns alumni came out after his Sophomore season and went undrafted but is showing that he will at the very least get a gig in the D-League. After all the Sixers did draft Jerami Grant 39th overall and Sampson has out performed Grant to this point.

nick5354ParticipantI haven’t seen any live games just checked box scores, so is Gordon playing the SF or PF position in Summer League?

providencefriars1ParticipantGordon played most of his mins at SF until today he split the 3 and 4 pretty evenly. He looked comfortable at the three, but is definitely a long term guy in regards to his perimeter polish.

GrandmamaParticipantI know it’s only summer league, but I really have a feeling Orlando is going to be kicking themselves in a few years for drafting Gordon over Exum.

slash787ParticipantThe Gordon pick that high is very questionable. The Magic’s entire off season is very quesitonable. They first give Afflalo away for Fournier to clear cap space and room. They then draft Gordon 4th overall ahead of Exum. They give up a 1st rounder and Saric to get Payton. They then sign Ben Gordon for $4.5M. Then they sign Channing Frye to muddy the waters for Gordon’s development. Overall it has been a very confusing and bad off season for the Magic. If they were going to pay Frye all of that money why wouldn’t they just keep Afflalo? Makes no sense.

theballerwayParticipant@Grandmama maybe but in a few years is also when Gordons game should start to come togetherproperly also. It’ll be an interesting comparison to keep an eye on though

Rip255We’ll know soon enough cos Exum is playing in Vegas. Both these guys are young so realistically we wont know their potential until towards the end of their rookie contracts when theyre 22.
Id still take Exum in a re-draft tho.
