So, I was watching the Cavs-Jazz game and I saw a TON of ref bias in that game. It really p!ssed me off. And it was really annoying. Now, I know that part of it was my Jazz bias and it was such a close game that I was mad. So I’m asking for everyone’s honest opinion. Whoever watched that game, what’d you think of the ref’s job? Especially in the third when the Jazz were coming back? It seemed like the refs let the Cavs play rough on the Jazz but then every little touch on the other side was called against the Jazz.

Also, I’ve heard all the crap about refs making bets before games and refs needing to make the good high-market teams win. But I’m wondering from VERY knowledgable people. Is that still going on? Because I don’t see it as much… but tonight I sure a @#!@ did.

Sorry for my language and all, I was pretty upset over this game. Needed to let some steam off.

Anyways, let me know what you guys thought of that game, and ALSO what you now think of the Jazz. I think they’ve got some more credibility since they kept this game so close and played a really good game.

I don’t know if the Refs need to knock off rust…. but overall it has been very frustrating….. I understand that established stars will get the benefit…. I think we all accept that…. But we have a good amount of young "Bigs" who have entered the NBA over the past 3 years & I feel like they are being mugged & nothing is called….

I’ve seen Derozan have games where he deserved 20 free throws and only got 5 or 6 but the consensus belief is players earn respect and until the respect is earned they don’t get the refs benefit of doubt. This year Derozans been given the benefit of doubt more often then not.

So it does happen but it happens to everyone not just the Jazz. Its a league wide thing they have to play through. Must be nice to be a Spurs fan though. Also longtime Lakers or Jazz fans may not have seen this as they have always followed teams that got the refs whistle on a rope.

I know it’s early, but DeRozan is averaging 10.3 FTA per game! In NBA History only 2 men have averaged 10+ FTA per game – ONLY 2! (Wilt Chamberlain & Bob Petit)….  ***Non – Active Players***

I absolutely LUV when players commit to attacking the Rim…. Just a few days ago, on ESPN’s Web Site James Harden paid homage to the influence Allen Iverson had on his career… Believe it or not at 5’11” 155Lbs…. Iverson is tied for 5th All Time in FTA per game w/ Karl Malone (Malone actually is the NBA Career leader in FTA total)

      1. Wilt Chamberlain 11.4

      2. Bob Petit 10.7

      3. Jerry West 9.4

      4. Shaq 9.3

      5. Allen Iverson & Karl Malone 8.9

Harden – who has Doubled his FTA per game since going to Houston – credited Iverson’s example his aggressive style…….. Harden has averaged an amazing 9.9 FTA per game in Houston (4 seasons)…… & DeRozan has been right there the last 2 seasons averaging just below 8 FTA per game……. but this year he is forcing his way to the top of the active leaders in this category….

Players like Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade & Lebron James all attack the rim relentlessly & as a result Average…….. Harden & DeRozan are both 26, in their prime & carrying on Iverson’s Legacy as rim rocking…… relentlessly attacking guards that are man enough to go into that paint where the predators are waiting to eat….. It takes a special kind of toughness to fight your way in there night after night after night & I truly admire that…..

I’m still filthy on the terrible calls in Heat v Celtics back in 2012.  Celtics were robbed in a few key moments of a few key games.

while we know that the Refs have Fixed games in the past, Lakers/Kings,

and we do know that there are preferences shown toward the big draw teams.

most of the times it is either we are fans of a team and see things biaslly ( I am a Jazz Fan)

or the refs sometime make mistakes.

btw the Cavs were a great test for the Jazz,  we are not at that level yet, but are able to compete,  good place to be for a young team that is going to get much better.

     Jordan Pushed Off!

yes I am still salty about it.

I could let it go anytime I want.

    I choose not to!

It seems impossible to play on-ball and 1-on-1 defense without the refs calling a foul.

One place I would like to see them call more fouls is on screen setters, each of whom seem to move on every single screen. The warriors are guilty of this.

I did think the refs did a good job last year in the playoffs but we can’t have them let certain things go in the playoffs but not the regular season.

Without question, basketball is the hardest sport to officiate. There is a foul on almost every play. Even at the 10-year old level you’ll hear both sides complain about the refs in every game.

I have always hated the fact that the superstars get the benefit of the doubt. But it has always been that way.

LeBron has only fouled out 4 times, Magic 5, Bird and Jordan 11.

Who NEVER fouled out in over a 1,000 games?
