I understand that a lot of players in the NBA have shoe contracts. I would like to know what goes in account for certain players to get their own signature shoes. Although there are many players who have deals, not every player has the luxury of having a signature shoe. There are a lot of players that have their own personal make-ups of certain shoes.

I would like to know why Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc. do not release those personal edition of shoes for us to purchase?

Why is it those shoes do not get released to the public for purchase?

Because they don’t create a mass amount because not everyone is gonna buy 200$ sneakers.

You’ll be surprised on who would go all out to buy certain players shoes. There are a lot of sneaker heads who wouldn’t care about the tag.

I like to consider myself a sneaker head and the most I paid for some basketball shoes was 364 for a Jordan Pack 3/20 but im not paying 400+ for some shoes I would never wanna wear because theyre so exclusive

Shouldn’t Blake Griffin have his own signature shoe, he is very marketable?

What $400 shoe are you guys talking about? All I can think of is the Aston Martin Kobe pack which is going for like $600 now…. and that’s two pairs.

Some players WITH signature shoes are: Kobe (Nike), Lebron (Nike), Rose (Adidas), Howard (Adidas), Chris Paul (Jordan), Melo (Jordan), Wall (Reebok), Baron Davis (Li-Ning), Brandon Jennings (Under Armour), KG (Anta), Calderon (Peak), Kidd (Peak), and a lot more; that’s all that I can think of now.

All the American brands are easily attainable… I know Li-Ning is on Eastbay too. I don’t know about Anta and Peak, which are Chinese brands.

Other than those, players sign with different shoe companies… and they get paid to wear their shoes. A lot of players DON’T have their own signature shoes… but they get their own PE (Player Edition) and some have their own logo. For example, Rudy Gay, Brandon Roy, Russeell Westbrook, Deron Williams, and Blake Griffin are all with Nike and have their own team colorways of whatever TEAM shoe Nike is putting out at the moment. I think right now it’s the Hyperfuse and the Hyperdunk 2010. These can MOSTLY be bought at House of Hoops.

You also have sneakerhead players that lose their contracts and start to wear dope kicks out of their own collection. Right now it’s gotta be Gilbert Arenas, who lost his Adidas contract last year. He’s been wearing anything from current Jordan releases as well as a lot of Pennys. Gotta say it’s pretty cool, especially since he’s wearing #1 on the Magic.

That’s all I know, hope it helps.
