I think its very difficult for teams to figure out about the real truth of participant's abilities in real games, specially now when they eliminated the 5 on 5. The projected top picks not interested in going against each other because Agents have all the control now.
I think NBA MUST make a rule in which participants must play each other in real game situations in order to be draft eligible in a main event like the combine, so this could make the draft more accurate in terms of talent vs # of selection.
I wrote this before...The NBA combine means nothing...its just numbers that can improve. The only thing i look for in a combine is how undersized players (Blair, Flynn, Mills) show in there vert leap and wingspan.
yea i wrote this before also
lol so we agree...the combine is making so fans look like geeks.
Oh look at PG's 40.5 vert leap
OMG...SG #5 has a 3.8 cone drill
i dont believe the NBA has cones on the court.
Scouts have seen all of these players play in real life and on tape a billion times, h.s. tape. college tape. aau tape. heck probably junior high tape. They know what they do in 5 on 5. How tall someone really is, their reach, vert etc. are clues to a players potential, that's all. That's why they have a combine.
of course the combine has its benifits but the fans and writiers are the ones putting more stock into it then the gms..the writiers say so and so had a great workout so hes gonna move up in the draft but for the most part thats not what happens when draft time rolls around..the fans are the funniest though a couple think flynn now moves up to top 3 because of his vert...ummm anyone who has watched him already knows he could jump out the gym..
