Seamo15ParticipantStarts up in just under an hour. In the meantime who’s got some theories and suggestions for improving the lottery. I thought that if you were to use the percentage of loss for the order rather than exact placing . That way, with Charlotte losing .894% of games they’d have a much better chance than 25% if you adjusted it based on percentage. It’d be a but more complicated yeah, but it could help all the same

aamir543ParticipantFuture’s will be determined in the next hour and a half, good luck to all, but unfortnatly only one team could get Anthony Davis.

Seamo15ParticipantI had a dream Golden State won. Horrible thought

Jlv2012The draft should correspond to a team’s standing from the past season. So, the worst team automatically gets the first pick, 2nd worst team gets the second pick, and so on. Sounds ludicrous but it might just work.
0- Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 1:37pm #675217
Seamo15ParticipantThat could encourage tanking

Winning_TimeParticipantI’ve got this odd feeling that Brooklyn is gonna win the lotto…the new black/white color scheme and brand new looking logo will really ignite some excitement -_- All they need is Anthony Davis.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 1:47pm #675219
FUNKYBUNCHParticipantbut the Hornets please! I really don’t want that David Stern veto to be "justified".
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 1:52pm #675220
Seamo15ParticipantIf it wasn’t for Sterns involvement I’d like new orelans to win. I also don’t care if Washington doesnt wins, poor decisions led to there position, not bad luck.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 1:57pm #675224
CavsFan07ParticipantCavaliers PLEASE!
But it will be New Orleans. Bobcats #2.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 1:59pm #675226
Seamo15ParticipantHas a team ever won two years in a row? If Cavs get it then they’ll have no excuse if they don’t become a force within the next 1-2 years
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 2:03pm #675228
SportsNinjaParticipantIf the bobcats had 89.5% chance of winning how would you divide the other 10.5%? I don’t think anybody has an issue with the percentages as they are, I just think people hate that certain markets seem to beat the odds at the most convenient times.

WrecklessParticipantPray that he lands in Detroit.. Come on Lottery God Stern..

Wahoo757ParticipantWow it definitely looks like Drummond cut the 20+ pounds he reeportedly lost. I think he’ll be a top 3 lock after workouts.

0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 2:05pm #675225
FUNKYBUNCHParticipanti don’t dislike the Hornets- but i diss that veto. I would like to see the Warriors of all the lottery teams win if I had to choose one.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 2:08pm #675235
Seamo15ParticipantI didn’t mean give the whole 89.5% to the Bobcats. What I mean is, you get the percentages of the top 10 teams, add them together and divide that. That gives Charlotte a 13% chance. Doing that means you’d have to scale on position as well. It’s only a theory at the moment, very rough.

SportsNinjaParticipant’92 and ’93 Magic: Shaq and Webber
This was the reason for (and the year before) the current system. Orlando had the best record of non playoff teams and won the lotto.
Also Charlotte defied odds and got the 2nd pick in ’92 after the first pick in ’91
These drafts were the catalyst for the change.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 2:11pm #675229
TJCParticipantIf cats don’t get Davis they need to at least get a pick high enough to draft T. Robinson if they are going to move forward next season

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI love the deputy commissioner.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 2:14pm #675233
FUNKYBUNCHParticipantORL won it 2 years in a row. Shaq then traded Webber for Hardaway but Shaq and Webber were both 1.

0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 3:15pm #675275
Seamo15ParticipantThe Bobcats getting the 2nd pick really opens the door for Jordan to make a " GM Jordan" move.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/30/2012 - 3:17pm #675277
Meditated StatesParticipantShould go to the worst team or we should see the actual draw so we know its not fixed.

Malik-UniversalParticipantim starting to think more and more that sometimes they rig it……
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/31/2012 - 2:46am #675479
surveParticipantWhy do they have that stupid system? What was wrong with the old way? Plus it was better and more fun. Each team has balls with their logo on it…..the worst team has the most balls, the best team has the least, everyone else in between. I mean it really makes you wonder why they stopped that. Plus with everyone pretty much falling in place from the back of the lottery, it was corny. If its a lottery, let it be a real one.
