The NBA GM’s came out with their yearly voting. 93 percent of the GM’s say the warriors will win it all. More than half believe Lebron James will win the MVP. The most intriguing part of their survey was who they would build their team around. Karl Anthony Towns was the top pic and the Greek Freak was second. Towns was also voted most likely to have a breakout season with KP coming in behind him. i think it’s really interesting Towns was the main attraction out of everyone in the league.

Even as a Kentucky guy I’m surprised they would choose KAT over Giannis. The only reason I could think of is that they might think his jump shot never comes along, other than that I don’t know what reservations you would have about him

There’s nothing you could possible dislike about KAT as a player or person.  He’s a great kid, big smile, genuinely nice, and mannn is he talented.  And he’s huge. He keeps adding on weight, but still gets by people.  If he can anchor that defense this year, I think he immediatey becomes a top 10 player

Considering KAT put up 25/12 last season, it will be interesting to see what his output will be this year with Butler now on the team and also Teague and Wiggins to consider.

I think his numbers may be fairly static but his performances will be more effective.

Giannis is one of my favourite players so I may be a bit biassed towards him. If he does really work on his shooting and as Kidd develops his point game the upside is scary. I don’t know whether he can be as heavy a scorer as say KAT but he’ll always me a complete stats filler.

Porz could well have a break out year but he’ll need to create a lot of his own shots as Frank N is a work in progress and will be double teamed a lot whilst KAT’s opponents have other top players to worry about.

LBJ wasn’t in top 3 MVP voting last season so it will be interesting to see if that is reversed this year as he may be playing slightly reduced minutes due to Cavs depth and to keep him fresh for play offs.

Didnt towns just average 25, 12 and 3. What more do you want from the guy.

I would rather have Giannis as a guy who can create and do everything from 1-3 or 1-4.  Unless KAT gets better on D.

Multi-talented perimeter guys come at a premium right now.

LeBron?  Why not MVP?  Unless he gets more rest during the year, I think he can get the Cavs to 60 plus wins AND probably gun for a triple double if he wanted to.

Even though Fultz was the top pick this year, I want to see some Ben Simmons/Joel Embiid pick and rolls.  THAT is the future of the team.

Also, the jury is still out on the Clips but that Teodosic is getting some highlights with the Clips.  Thinks look FUN AGAIN in Clip land.  Reminiscing about the good old BABY BLAKE AND BARON DAVIS SHOW from a few years ago.  Showtime is coming back to LA, but maybe to the OTHER Staples Center anchor tennant.

Two years ago they all would have picked Anthony Davis … in fact, by this time he was supposed to have surpassed LeBron as the best player in the world, likely on his way to becoming the GOAT. But now he’s yesterday’s news, an old man of 24, even though he just had the best season of his career. What happened?

So now you’re going to "build around" a guy with even less of a record of team success?

These GMs are just as much suckers for hype as the most casual fans. Why would you choose a guy to build around whom you’ve never even seen play at the highest level? I understand that the "build around" thing is about finding the balance between ability and youth, but I would at least choose a guy like Kawhi or Harden or even Durant, who are still relatively young but have shown that their talent translates into wins, and that they can perform and lead at a championship level …

i believe it is their contracts. Towns is still in his rookie contract which will have restriction when it finishes. With Giannis and Davis you have less time to succeed or they will fly away.

In a league where its becoming more and more about talent and less about position I want a guy that can play 1-5 and do everything on the floor. Granted, KAT is a very well rounded talent but I would trade his slight edge in size for the mobility of Anteto. You can’t go wrong with either one but I say the ranking should be:

    1. Giannis

    2. KAT

    3. Porzingis

    4. Davis

    5. Kawhi
