NBA Fantasy League for NBA Draft.net?
The more I think about it the more complex this league becomes, their really is no simple way. Basically a league like this would be doing like an NBA2k10 draft with all the players on xbox360live and we play the season throughout is what this league is like the more I think about it. It will take a lot of effort from every1 in order to make this a successful league.
what about the following system?! the team having the first pick, will pick again at 60. the team with pick 30, gets 31 too. so there is a better balance between teams. the team with pick 30 could get also the draftpick 1, which would be probablt griffin?!
The Utah Jazz! with the 20th pick.
the easiest way would to go to yahoo.com create a league and set up a day and time to draft. Probably cant do this for at least another month though.
make sure that user birdman is listed with a team... birdman u gotta email knicksfan4life with ur team and stuff
i think this would work.. itd b hard but itd work...
hmmmm UNLESS... some1 with 2k9 or sumtin takes our raft results, inputs them into a season, sims the season n reports back? hmmm? possibilities?
Everyone who has chosen a team, gets the team roster they have chosen to start. In addition to that they get all the players contracts. After that they can tinker with the roster by making trades. Also, when the NBA Schedules come out the team you are is the schedule you take. With that you match-up head to head against the team that team plays on that day. Though say you make a trade that hasn't been actually made in reality, you would take their stats for your team, and not count the stats for the players you got rid of. We'll use the following categories Pts, Ast, Reb, Stl, Blk, 3PTM, FG%, FT%. So in a head to head matchup the team who scores more points gets the win, but they can be outscored in the other 7 categories so they would be after 1-0 with 1 point, while there opponent would be 0-1 but with 7 points. I will need your suggestions, thank you all.
interesting... bout trades tho... how r we makin them work with the cap again? n r we havin cap same a sNBA? or a lil higher? n roster SIZE... mayb extend it by 2 or 3 so we can pick up some rookie FAs/D-leaguers mayb?
also... when making trades will we have to do salaries bein equal like straight0up... or the NBA rule where a difference in salaries is allowed as long as its a certain percentage (percentage slippin my mind 25% mayb?)
we do the same salary cap or $60 million, and we also have a 6 round draft to draft D-Leaguers, who could be called up if some1 gets hurt and then has an impact. Or drafting players who are not on a team in August or whenever, (ie Stephon Marbury if he's not signed).
A couple of thoughts/questions. My understanding is we are playing for this season only with no exchange of draft choices possible. Is this correct? It would be really cool if we could incorporate the draft into this, though it would be very difficult. If we do this next year, will trades made still be in effect or will we inherit the 2010 team as it actually is? Just to get this straight in the above scenario, a team could be 1-0, butdown 6 points if 8 categories are used. How will winner be determine? Win loss record or points?
This will be a lot of fun and I'm hoping the best posters get onboard to make this interesting!
What can we play for to make it interesting other than bragging rights??????
That's all fine, but is this going to be a roto league, a points league, a head to head league or what. Also, if the team you pick is the division you're in that means we'll be following an NBA Schedule, but it would be easier with the team's current rosters, especially with this year being a huge year for free agency teams can make decisions on who to sign long term. On that Teams can only give out 1 max to there own, and 1 max contract to some1 not on there team. So if some1 is the Cavs they can give LBJ a 7year/140mil deal starting in 2010-11.
is that 15 rounds 30 teams, that's 450 players and taking the salary cap into affect would be extremely time consuming for people. That is why I suggested we take on the team's roster.
We need to find a free website to record stats. This could be an issue as most aren't designed with our requirements in mind. In the old days, we diod a traditional roto league and scored it manually. Terribly time-consuming. If we can't find a free website, we have to keep it simple.
everyone check this link out http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasybasketball/story/11033238
I believe this is the way we'll have to go.
I think a cap would be very nice, but isn't a deal breaker. We have to decide soon if this is a one shot deal or if we continue next year from where we leave off.
If you can find a website that offers a 30 team league and if you can get 30 people that will be committed to the league, then I would join.
How many people have officially joined so far, as in e-mailed all their info to you?
I would want the Mavericks if I joined, but it really wouldn't matter if I didn't get them.

I slotted you in as the Chicago Bulls. I just need you to send me an email at DJONES27@pride.hofstra.edu. In that email give me your (real name and account name) name, your favorite team, if you have a facebook, aim, or both, and any suggestions you want to add. Thanks appreciate it.
