NBA Draft: Why isn't Erick Green a lottery pick?

Why isn't Erick green considered a lottery pick? I'm not saying he should, but what are the reasons he's not? I've seen green play most of this past season and got to watch a few games of lillard last year and quite honestly green is the more talented player. NO I'm not saying green can Avg 19 ppg in his rookie year and Win Roy, because he couldnt but if you just go by seeing the both of them in college, green is the better and more talented player. The only reason why he isn't as regarded as lillard or even in the lottery is because we knew lillard would be a point guard while no one is sure whether green will play the point or shooting guard, though given his size point guard seems to be the no brainier. Green led the nation in scoring yet no one noticed because his team was horrible. I'm not sure how many of you guys seen green play but he's extremely talented and up there with bazz and McCollum as the best scorer in the draft. everyone who says that he's not strong enough and needs to put on weight don't realize that he was 2ND in the country in Free Throw attempts per game. I just don't know how it's possible that Jimmer and Kendall Marshall could go in the lottery the last 2 years yet green is on the boarder of the 1st round.

I see him as a poorman's

I see him as a poorman's Monta Ellis, could possibly be what Reggie Jackson is to the Thunders. I see him as a scorer off the bench, I don't think he will be a starting guard in the NBA. Which is why he isn't a lottery prospect. He needs the ball in his hand and struggles to be effective without the ball.

The simple answer is that

The simple answer is that he's not really a PG, more of a scoring guard, and he doesn't have the typical blow by quickness that teams look for in that kind of player. I would agree though that he doesn't get nearly enough love, and I do think he has a future in the NBA coming off the bench. I don't see a whole lot of difference between him and CJ McCollum (who I think is kind of overrated TBH). He's a very safe pick because his skill level is very high though. I bet some team will be very happy to pick him up near the end of the first round.

Not a lottery pick he's not

Not a lottery pick he's not top 5 in PG Prospects or Sg prospects since some people say he's an undersized SG.

PG Prospects
Trey Burke
MCW
Dennis Schroeder/ CJ McCollum(if you guys think he's a sg)
Myck Kabongo
Lorenzo Brown(who locked him down during the ACC Tourney)

SG Prospects
Ben McLemore
Victor Oladipo
KCP
Tim Hardaway Jr/Allen Crabbe
Jamaal Franklin

Erick can score but I think he's more suitable for a scoring spark off the bench, I don't think a team in the lottery are going to draft him just to be a spark off the bench. Early Second round is where he'll get picked up.

also Kendall Marshall is a better pass, bigger, stronger and to me has ability to he come a Mark Jackson type of player. Only if he works on his jumper and defense

He is an undersized 2 guard,

He is an undersized 2 guard, and he was a high scorer, and did it quite efficiently. But he didnt make his team all that much better, and they had a horrible record. And while that isnt a knock on him, more so on the rest of his team, if you are just putting up stats and not getting W's, its hard to get picked in the lottery, especially when you are an undersized 2.

Lillard was a high draft pick

Lillard was a high draft pick not because of his ncaa career but because of very very strong workouts where he dominated everybody...

if Green was able to do that this year, he would be a lottery pick.

I haven't seen enough of Erick Green to comment but his stats indicate he could receive lottery looks with some good workouts
