NBA Draft: Is Trey Burke Really a Second Round Pick?
Most mock drafts and experts(including this site) say that Trey Burke will be a second round pick.
He was a first team pre season All American this year and to most is the best point guard in college ball, but what makes him a second round pick? Will he be a lottery pick by the end of the season?whats this nba potential and upside?
I hear some say hes a second round pick and others who compare him to chris paul
i dont know, i mean chris paul is a littttle far fetched for me. I think the reason why he is projected to go in the 2nd round is that as much as people hope he can be chris paul..maybe he will be the next jordan taylor lol there are a lot of good players in college basketball. a few good or bad games can make or break ANYBODY
Second Round Pick? maybe Second Overall Pick!! the kid is a stud, i compare him to Tim Hardaway!
lol i HOPE you were joking
My boy trey burke is like cris paul he looks 4 his team mates first then mix it up by scoring at the college level look at the games!!
Anybody who has Trey Burke in the 2nd round doesn't know what the hell they're looking at.
Trey Burk is a second round pick, why? He can't play above the rim, he's 5'11, not super fast nor explosive and turns the ball over alot(almost 4 a game and he hasn't even went against great comp yet)
Maybe he can prove people wrong when he gets to the NBA(If he gets there), but for now he's a secound round pick, the comparisons to CP3 don't mean anything he may play like him but what does it matter?
Demar Derozan was the next Vince Carter.......?
Brandon Jennings next AI.......?
Darius Miles next T-Mac......?
He's a freaking PG. Among the list of skills needed for the position, being able to play above the rim is towards the bottom.
He can shoot, pass, handle, has a high IQ, plays with toughness, competes hard on defense, dials in and plays better in clutch situations, already runs an offense like a vet, is THE best PnR PG at the college level, has good body strength with the ability to play to contact, is a very clever player, has leadership skills among other intangibles, can make shots from every level of the floor, etc.
Him playing like CP3 means exactly that.
Lol, ok he's nowhere near Cp3. As I said I'll wait until B10 play starts and see how he does, right now he's a 2nd round pick in my book and on every mock draft.
I didn't say he was gonna be another Cp3. I said he PLAYS like him, which gives him a leg up on virtually every other PG in college. That's not the same thing as comparing a raw prospect to a pro just in terms of athleticism and build. No PG runs an offense or even runs PnR as well as Trey in the college game. His basketball acumen and skill are immense. You can only hope that a kid like Ryan Harrow, Deonte Burton or Ian Miller ever develops enough mentally to have the grasp of the game that Trey Burke has now.
Why do we need to wait til BIG10 season? Was last year an aberration? He took a team lacking in talent and depth, running one of the more complex offenses in college ball as FRESHMAN en route to a share of the Big10 title and Big10 FOY...and he's even better this year.
Exactly he did all that and barely sniffed the draft boards last year......there's a reason for that.
Crazy how i came up with the comparison a year ago, now everyone thinks about it.
if you think about it chris paul's 16p-7a-5r as a sophomore aren't that far from the numbers Burke is gonna put up. I think he's going for 17p-6/7a-3r.
A lot of people are thinking freshman trey burke who lacked strength, polish in his jumper, and tighter handles (though he was a beast). Soph. Trey Burke is a new player.
he's the 2nd best passing NBA prospect. his passing is been absolutely excellent. i'll think about changing my mind if see kabongo taking over the way Trey does. Lorenzo and Trey excellent playmakers
player of the year!
