Who do you see being the better player? What are some simliraties and differences in there games?Who has more potential? Is randle undersized for a pf like Bennett? Are they both tweeners who want to be small forwards but just don’t have the laterally quickness, defensive ability or skill set to play on the perimeter? Do you see any of them being all stars?

Everyone seems to think that Julius Randle is going to be a super star if not an all star, watching highlights of him I struggle to see how a lot of his game translates against nba power forwards. I’m not saying he won’t be a star but like Bennett, randle seems to like to play on the perimeter a lot and settles for jump shots. Though I think randle is more physical than Bennett and more of a banger it’s going to be interesting to see how his game translates.

I feel like Randle is very similar to Zach Randolph the way he overpowers to the rim and has that silky sweet lefty mid-range jumper. They are both the same size and I feel like Randle will be a power forward in the league similar to him. Which mean’s he will probably make a couple allstar games. He’s probably got a little more bounce to his step than Z-Bo though..Thoughts?

Good comparison based off of strength and size. Randle defiantly has more bounce and probably a higher ceiling to become an all-star. Would take him over Bennett for sure though

A little more bounce is an understatement. Julius is an elite athlete… Think about that? What if Zach was an athlete mentioned in the same sentence as Blake Griffin? That’s how special I think Julius can be. Go ahead, and neg away, but I think this kid has all the makings of a Perennial All-Star.

Julius is a damn good athlete. But he’s nowhere near the freak that Blake is athletically. That’s not a slight at Julius either.

Yes, there is a tendency that Julius thinks he has to show all his perimeter skills, but he is such a unique explosive talent that in my book he is a legit candidate to overtake Wiggins as top pick next year. As for Bennett, I am very sceptical, not a fan at all. So I think there is no comparison at all.

Bennett is a undersized PF who wants to play SF. Similar to Derrick Williams.

Randle has a genetic lottery type body and plus athleticism to play SF, but knows he can dominate and wants to play PF.
Harder to compare but kind of similar to maybe Zac Randolph(with better body) or Blake Griffin.

Randle is not undersized he had measured at 6’10 in Lebron camp but 6’9 in Nike hoop summit. So either way he is somewhere in the 6’9,6’10 area.Which is good size for his position. I do think he will be a star.He has a lot of face up moves and a lot of strength for his age. I can’t imagine how strong he will be with a college weight program and a NBA training program. He may end up a more athletic Zbo. That isn’t bad at all.

Big difference between Randle and Bennett and Randolph is that Bennet and Randolph both have freak wingspans in the 7’4″ area while Randle only has a 6’11 wingspan. That difference in reach will make all the difference for playing post in the L.

Randle does have more athleticism and skill and just has that star aura around him. Tho Bennet if he wasn’t injured could of possibly propelled himself to the number 1 pick by showing out at the combine.

I want to see Randle play a NCAA game before we declare him better than Anthony Bennett- who was a finalist for the Naismith, a finalist for Freshmen of the year, an all-conference player. If Bennet went to Kentucky or a more usual school for a top 10 kid , I reckon most peoples opinions on him would differ. I know people arent going to like this, but I am curious to see if Randle struggles with not being able to physically punish every player at the next level. His strengths in a way mirror Shabazz’s and now look at Shabazz’s stock…

From a size/athletism stand point Griffin and Randle are close. Randle is better on the perimeter while Blake is a better rebounder. As far as Bennett goes I don’t think he has the elite level potential of Randle, but could very well end up as the better player.

Randle is a beast an he has that killer instinct in him(so the griffin comparison is inaccurate), the good tweener who won’t be a tweener in fact….and i let you the bad tweeners in the top 5 recently ala williams, robinson, bennett.

What I don’t understand is why people seem to believe Bennett is some sort of enigma or a player that doesn’t understand the game. Why do people think he wants to be a full time SF in the NBA like Williams when did he say that and how did that assumption establish. To clear up misconceptions he is an extremely hard worker who truly understands the game. When he was 16,17 he had a body projected to be similar to Brand, Maxiell but he has worked on it so much that I guarantee he has less then 7% body fat. This guy isn’t fat he is cut and that athletisism was acquired through hard work not birth.

Everybody loves to sleep on Canadian players and nitpick but at the end of day they always end up drafted higher then expected come draft day and end up producing, aside from Leo Rautins. Nicholson was projected as a mid second and went 19th to Orlando. Corey Joseph projected late 2nd to undrafted went late first. Thompson was mid first he went fourth. This year don’t expect Bennett, Olynyk, and Kabongo to break the trend.

They are high character guys with great work ethics which maximizes their coachabillity/potential. Teams drool over these guys because they know they will do what it takes to improve. Stop hating on Bennett he is a good kid and probably the best player in this class.

Both have the potential to be all stars. Bennett is the second coming of Larry Johnson with his size and skills. He may be 6’7 but when you factor in his wingspan plus athletic ability and how quick he gets off the ground and you will see he’s far from undersized. Randle is another player who cold be special, does anyone in college or the NBA have his combination of height(6’9) size (248) power, athletic ability, post skill, quickness, rebounding and motor. Of course a lebron can do all of that but I’ve been trying to think of anyone else who combines those things when they were in HS college or the NBA. He also has a very good midrange game known and is known as a very good passer for his size
