NBA Basketball: Will John Wall or Kyrie Irving make the All Star team next season over Derrick Rose?
Derrick Rose will miss atleast half of next season so he obvioulsy wont make the All Star team.
Who will replace him John Wall or Kyrie Irving? or Even Brandon Jennings?
I give Wall the edge over Irving because the wizards will be fighting for a playoff spot and wall stats will be slighly better acrooss the board besides scoring and Field Goal %
I'm going with John Wall, this is his 3rd year in the league and I think this is when he puts it all together now that he has a respectable supporting cast
Since when has an injury prevented someone from getting voted onto the All-Star team? Yao Ming, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and others have been voted in while missing a significant portion, or without ever playing a game, of that season. Not saying it will happen, but it isn't guaranteed that he won't make the All-Star team.
your an idiot he wont even be on the ballots since the league knows he wont be back before the All Star break
the guys you mentioned all did/could have retruned by the All Star Break Rose WONT
He's not an idiot
Grant Hill was an All-Star in 2001 despite playing 4 games and everyone knowing he wasn't coming back that season.
Yao Ming went out in November of 2010 after playing only 5 games, was voted a starter in the 2011 All-Star game.
Derrick Rose will probably be on the ballots and probably be an All-Star, it will be who will be playing in his spot.
huh Wizards got worse?
Wizards got worse at the 5 worse at the 2 and have like 5 average power forwards PLAYOFFS
I think your English teachers just died a little inside.
Anyway, How did we get worse at the 5? Nene is an upgrade over McGee, and while I wasn't a fan of acquiring Okafor, he gives us more depth and seems like a pretty good fit next to Nene. We got better at he 2 by drafing Beal, who'll contribute right away. You're right about us having a bunch of average PFs, but we have Seraphin who's on the verge becoming very good.
I don't see how we got worse from last yr. I think we'll be competing for a playoff spot too if Wall improves.
Well the Wizards had a lot of injuries and traded away Nicky Young for nothing. Nene and Booker missed a lot of time and there was a lot less depth. But pre injuries and trades they were a little bit better than this year though if they stay healthy could win more games % wise
I going to say John Wall will make the all star team even if it is a reserve. I am expecting a close to 20/10 season from him. Historically the third season is when players breakout and become stars, happened with Westbrook and Rose. There second season were meh just like wall's.
Irving will need a better team to make the all star team.
i was about to say what about the other pgs in the east until i looked down the list
I notice no one is suggesting Raymond Felton.
If Lin were still a Knick, I think you'd have to say there was at least a chance he puts up 18 and 8, the Knicks win games, and he gets the Chinese vote. But Felton getting in? No I don't see that happening.
Ariza is a nice upgrade at SF. With him and Okafor the Wizard's D should be nicely improved. And Ariza will make cuts for Wall to hit him for easy baskets. I don't know if we should talk about playoffs, but the Wizards should be improved.
I dont know for sure, but I think Kyrie as just good as chance as wall. Kyrie was on a mission against the best competition in the league this summer and more than held his own. I think Kyrie game is more advance than wall. Yeah wall is the better athlete and passer, but he doesnt handle like kyrie(maybe the best handles in the league), shoot the ball nearly as well, and I think the summer experience against westbrook, paul, and williams, and in some of those matchups Kyrie came out on top, will fuel him this season. If wall can start hitting his jumper with more consistency this year then I think Wall will get the nod.
The Cavs record might be the only thing holding him back however.
But apparently he barely missed a spot on the All-Star team last year from reports and the Cavs were atrocious last year. I can only imagine him and his team getting better so I think he still has a shot.
John Wall though should be leading that Wizards team to a possible 8th seed and I think that works heavily in his favor.
I think Kyrie will show Wall who's boss...and hopefully he won't break his hand this time (pun intended).
Kyrie has a good chance. i mean hes getting a lot of hype now after his bet with kobe and the highlights he has from scrimmaging the usa team. and people will be watching his play next season. Wall is no doubt the better athlete but Kyrie is special.
Rondo and D Will should make the all-star game as point guards. If D Rose gets voted in and doesn't play due to injury I am not sure they take a third point guard. A guy like the perennially-snubbed Josh Smith might be more deserving.
Wade will probably start. That leaves the fourth guard spot open between Joe Johnson, and other guys but I wouldn't assume that they take another point guard if D Rose won't be able to go.
I think they might take a shooting guard for the fourth guard spot. If not Joe Johnson, then Monta Ellis might get a look if he continues to put up the numbers.
I'm liking John Wall to make the All-Star game next season. I like the upgrades the Wizards have made and they'll be a much better team. I'm also just expecting Wall to have a great season and put himself in the convo as one of the best point guards in the league.
I think Kyrie is going to make it before Wall, because they are already pushing him to be like the next one. In last years rookie game he was the first pick while wall was close to last. Also I believe Kyrie's marketing is better than walls which will put him out their more. I hope Wall can put it together but without a steady J he can't take the next step.
I think rose will get voted in anyways because the fans love him, I don't agree with it but it will happen, look at how Allen Iverson was an all star his last year in the league when we all know he didn't deserve it, and Yao Ming who got hurt early in the season was still voted in as a starter
AI deserved everything he ever got...He put his heart and soul into the game and if the fans vote him into the starting lineup that means he deserved it. Now if they change the rules on selecting all-stars and take it out of the fans hands you could argue that point. Right now the way it is set up you can't argue with the fans.
I love Kyrie but I'm giving this to John Wall if he can put his team in playoff contention. The Cavaliers still have ATLEAST another year before we can even discuss playoffs. Don't get me wrong though, Love me some John Wall!
