NBA Ball:Best Player in 5 years Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Or Michael-Kidd-Gilchrist?

Who do you see being the best player out of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George or MKG? Who has the highest Potential and upside? Who will make the all star team first? Who will make the All NBA defensive team first?

I'm afraid to put mkg in any category seeing he hasnt played a single nba game yet unlike George and leonard. I hope he pans out because Charlotte is the closest team near me but no one is a guarantee in the league.

I have not seen MKG enough to make a decision on him. I think offensively George is the best player of the 3, but Leonard is the best defender as he just plays smarter than George.

I woulda put Paul George on that "players you hate thread"

earlier today but my hate of him is rational. He will never be dominate because its not in his make up. So its definately not him. Pop says Leonard is going to be a star but I see him as a real good player. That leaves MGK, but not by default, because he is the real deal. His game has to develop but his passion is unquestionable. Leonard is a good defender and will be well above average but MKG is already there. He has that Melo/Cousins natural strength, he was bullying T Rob in his lone Summer League appearance. I was real skeptical about him being the 2 pick when it was discussed during the season but after watching him I had to go along with it.

Paul George is scared to dribble (to the basket on non fast breaks.) and looked so pu$$fied when facing Bron last year, I can never forgive him. He is destined to be a 3 point specialist who could be the best athlete on the court at any given time against any given team. The game against the Olympic Team and the Select Team he looked equally weak. Kyrie and Cousins(destined to be such a knuckle head to never reach his potential) were the only ones that didn't look over matched. Matter of fact they both dominated.

I feel the same way about

I feel the same way about Paul George. He's a Pacer, so I support him, but it's just hard for me to get excited about a player who's so passive. He's a great athlete, but doesn't attack the rim. Look at his free-throw attempts... Sad.

You're right... He's scared as F to dribble and attack. Mainly because his dribble game is weak. He's also a weak passer... Just makes HORRIBLE decisions passing the ball.

I think he has a chance to develop into a very good two way player, but I don't see the star potential. The Pacers are going to make a mistake and overpay him big time and we're going to be stuck building around him and Hibbert... Two guys who aren't even close to being franchise players.

I feel you

I want to be a fan of this Pacer team, but I dont like Granger and George so much. Every body else I love from Hill to Hansborough. I liked the Green signing but not the Collison trade. They needed help because they looked so bad when Hibbert left the game but I liked Collison and he has always showed me natural leadership skills. I do understand that its also hard to have guys in the locker room with leadership skills who clearly are not the leader.

Here hoping that George has a killer first half and Gordon misses a couple games then they can make that trade happen. I honestly would give up both Granger(a Louisiana native) and George for Gordon and a decent wing, maybe get another team involved.

George probably has more

George probably has more upside, but he's not better than Gordon Hayward right now in my opinion.

I like Paul George. But when

I like Paul George. But when Pop tells you Leonard is going to be a star, you better listen. There is a very good chance that three years from now the Spurs are going to still be a 50 win team and Leonard is going to be their best player. The kid is already shooting nearly 38% from three, while giving you nearly 8 rebounds a game (per 36 minutes) out of the Small Forward position!

The more I think about it the

The more I think about it the more I think you guys are right. I really like Paul George, but that game against Detroit when there was no Danny Granger and he got to the line whenever he wanted. I think without Granger we will see a different more aggressive George.

Removing my bias I would probably say MKG will be the pick of the lot as he is so damn determined and has that motor that is almost unmatched.

Indianabasketball, you are as

Indianabasketball, you are as much a homer for Gordon Hayward as I am for Paul George. Hayward is ok, but Paul George is still better as he put up numbers next to another quality wing player. Hayward was the only wing threat on the Utah Jazz they had nothing else, if Paul George was in that situation I think he could have put up better numbers.

wow, everybody is sleeping on

wow, everybody is sleeping on Kawhi,

no love for Leonard?

i mean, he is trusted by coach pop with valuable minutes on a spurs that is stacked with talent, he has the most starts as a rookie on Coach Pop,

Leonard - 6'7" hieght, 7'3" wingspan, average 14.1 pts 10 rebs 2.2 assist 1.3 steals a game,

i mean thats pretty good for a rookie, averaging double figures, he can guard SG, SF and PF positions,

@festar35 I'm a Paul George

@festar35

I'm a Paul George supporter. I just don't think he'll be a star. I've never seen Tracy McGrady. He's a weak ball handler, passer and just doesn't make good decisions when the ball is in his hands. He's the 4th option in the starting lineup, so he doesn't get a lot of shot attempts, but he's just not very aggressive. A player with his athletic ability should get to the line more. I do think he can develop into a very good two way player, especially if he develops a strong mid range game. I just don't see a star player.

I don't see a star player in Gordon Hayward either and he struggles with passiveness too. The reason I think Hayward is better has little to do with stats. He's just a smarter and tougher basketball player. He's a better ball handler, passer and decision maker in both the half-court and in transition. He's a mistake free player. I also think he's steps ahead fundamentally. Shooting wise, they're close. Hayward didn't shoot it well in the playoffs last season, but he's a better shooter than that. Hayward's in between game is steps ahead too.

George's main edge over Hayward is that he has elite level physical tools and athleticism. The thing is, Hayward is a very good athlete and defends tough.

I just think Hayward is better. It has nothing to do with being a homer, especially since I like both players. I'm just calling it like I see it.
