NBA Ball: What is Marshon Brooks Scoring Potential?
I see him with Jamal Crawford/lou williams type potential. He doesn't have the best shot selection and hes not young like most second year players so his potential isnt sky high. He could potentially be a top 5 SG in the future do to that position being weak in the future but he has to improve his decision making and 3pt shot
E Gordon, J Harden, K Thompson, B McLemore, Bazz and Wiggins
klay thompson is my best prospect right now, he could develop into a Reggie Miller type, he has the lenght and confidence.
well, i see Brooks as a poor man's Ray allen, though if he continue to work, be a gym rat, shoot 10,000 hoops per practice, and never get tired of shooting, then he could be a bit closer to Ray ray
I don't think Marshon is anything special at all. His game is catch and hold and taking tough, contested jumpers. Players have to be special, special talents to enjoy the type of offensive freedom he needs to play his offensive game. Either that or they have to be on a bad team where there aren't any better options.
He's not quick off the bounce. He can't just body defenders off of him to create space. He's not a good ball-handler. He has a poor floor game, isn't good off the ball and has poor shot selection. On the other end, he's a poor defender, albeit with long arms. I really don't get where this MB hype came from. I wouldn't be surprised if his role continues to be marginalized more and more unless he gets moved to another bad team.
I think he will have a very good career and average 20-25 PPG multiple times. He is a guy you build your team around as a 2nd or 3rd best player. Should have all star consideration in the future. Unfortuantely now he's blocked by Joe Johnson.
Marshon Brooks is fairly quick off the bounce and really knows how to create space when he has the ball, especially in order to get off a quick mid-range jumper. He has such a polished mid-range game that it really stands out above almost everyone, not to mention he has the length, quickness and savvy to get to the rim when defenders get over aggressive or consistently knock down floaters in the lane.. His jumper will continue to improve much like almost all players' jumpers do when they get into the league. He will never be the killer 3p threat, it's just not the way Brooks plays the game but defenders will definitely have to start respecting it more and that will only open more options up for him... He has always had a bad knock for being a bit too ball dominant and forcing a lot of shots, but the fact is, he makes a lot of those and really doesn't press too much
He's never been a rock solid defender, but he has the physical tools and with the right coach I'm sure he will never be a liability.
I think he could average around 18-20 ppg with a starting gig.. If he's with a competitor I think he could be a great 2nd option.. On a non-competitor he could put up 25 ppg if not more easily, especially if his game continues to develop..
Only 24 years old and put up 12 ppg during his rookie campaign.. There's not much to really dislike about this guy going forward, he's fun to watch..
marshon brooks is one of my favorite players from that class but lets be real, 25ppg????
lets see the players that got over 25 points...
lebron james
kevin durant
carmelo anthony
kobe
dirk nowitzki
ALL ELITE SCORERS.
there are so many players with better offensive game than brooks and they couldn't reach 25ppg. westbrook, wade, parker, etc etc
you have to be elite to get 25ppg, brooks is not elite. his ceiling is 19ppg
Wade has never averaged more than 25ppg? Do you watch basketball? He aveaged 30ppg one season and lead the league in PPG.
Derrick Rose never averaged 25 a game? He did his MVP year
LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is Marshon Brooks Scoring potential now and in the future? Where do you rank him among the young up and coming 2 guards in the league now and in 5 years? He could one day be a top 5 sg and top 5 scorer in the league.
Whats his Potential and Upside? assuming he starts in the next few season if he gets traded or joe johnson does.
