great list there mikey.. i'd have mine the same as yours.
what makes me laugh is how you have kobe 2nd... it reminded me of when jordan considered kobe top 10 (not top 5) LOL... jordan is such a joker..damn his competitiveness
Thank you for the compliment. I am sorry for doing this, but even if your list is the same as mine, would you mind posting it? Just easier to keep track of, plus maybe you would have some subtle differences. I have Kobe Bryant ranked 2nd All-Time as a SG, but also as a player. I know a lot of people disagree with me and feel that is too high, but I feel like beyond Michael, Kobe is probably the next best player to have ever played the game. His skill set is absolutely incredible. Michael is insanely competitive, and his Top 10 thing was probably not as much of a slight to Kobe as everyone thinks, but I think he knows that Kobe may have indeed been his closest competition had they battled each other in their prime. I give the edge to Mike, but it would be interesting. Thanks to everyone who has posted a list, I appreciate it. Keep them coming!
LMAO at Pryon,''Great List MikeyV Mine is just like yours''...
Thats like being at a Job Interview and telling the Interviewer,''my Resume is just like yours..But doesnt Show it!!!

It is a constant discussion amongst our forum, "Who is the best of All-Time"? While the consensus is usually Michael Jordan, we still debate and discuss who the greatest were at certain positions. We all use different criteria, most talented, best scorers, greatest career achievement and so on. Also, more often than not, there are some who judge others lists and say, "Well, so and so should not be ranked here" or "So and so is a better player than him". Now, here is the time to put your money where your mouth is.
I am suggesting, for fun, a forum wide poll. The format will be our ranking the best players up to this current point in time in NBA history by the 5 positions. I am hoping this is more used for tabulation than discussion, and we can make an entirely separate thread for our discussion after we have gotten people to cast their votes.
The rules are simple, you rank the 5 All-Time best players at each position in NBA History. The scoring for the poll will be general NBA MVP scoring. A first place vote is worth 5 points, a second place vote is worth 4 points, a third place vote 3, a fourth place vote 2 and a fifth place vote 1. You each have one vote, so make your decisions carefully. I am hoping to get as many participants as possible, and I am hoping they will cast their votes seriously. In the end, we will have consensus rankings of the greatest of All-Time amongst the site, which could lead to even possibly more votes. I appreciate anyone participating, and I hope that we all reserve judgement until we make a separate discussion thread on the matter.

Even making this list, I have thoughts. Center was the easiest for me, as far as the 5 I chose, but the ranking is difficult. PF is stacked at the top, I had to leave out Elvin Hayes, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin McHale. SF was difficult as well, I am sure LeBron James will make the top 5 one day, but it is difficult to leave out Scottie Pippen. I will say, I think the drop off amongst the All-Time great players in entirety is huge at SG. Once you get past Jerry West, I think you have quite a few players in their before one gets to Allen Iverson. Dwyane Wade is another player I am sure will make the list as well, but he has only played 8 seasons, much like LeBron. PG is also incredibly difficult with having to leave off Kidd, Cousy and Payton. Than again, this is not a list of the best players of All-Time as a whole, more the best to ever have played these positions. Still, I am hoping this leads to even more lists and I look forward to the discussion post.
