td8118ParticipantThese are a few things Id like to see for the All-Star game
1. Amar’e and Rose starting…I love Rondo but Rose is the MVP of the league right now in my opinion. He is playing out of his mind and carrying his team through probably the toughest schedule out of any team in the league. As for Amar’e, I don’t think anyone needs to hear an argument for him, last night speaks for itself over why he is no doubt a starter, possibly the MVP of the league
2. Lamar Odom making the all-star team. He is one of the most under-rated players in the league, but this year really stepped up his game. Its unbelievable when you look at him as a barometer for the Lakers. I don’t know the exact numbers but when he gets 20 points they are virtually unbeatable. He is the total package, a guy willing to play a supporting role, but this year when they needed more he stepped up and then some. He deserves to make the team particularly in his own city

ChrischiParticipantWow the west center slot is weak. How is Haywood available for Vote and not Chandler??? Just make Gasol the C. Neither Bynum or Yao deserve to make the team.

QUINCEY HODGES1Hopefully rondo continues to lead in votes for pg. He’s perfect for a team with alot of stars. Could challenge the all time record. Looks like bynum will be starting since Yao broke another bone

yanks28thParticipantAs a knicks fan I was dissapointed that Felton wasn’t one of the top 10 guards where in my mind he’s been the third best guard next to Rondo and Rose (and has outplayed them both in their matchups). 8.5+ assist and 18 points a game, and getting in the double digits more often then not in assist recently. I’m not worried about Amare. If he continues to play at this level, he’ll get the votes and start in the all-star game.

llpereza few things, this is voting and so comments like "where’s so and so" are kinda pointless. I really dont have any major problems with who the fans are voting for and the coaches will handle the rest.
And to quincey, if yao is injured and doesnt play, bynum wouldnt get the automatic vote if he was still second. Coaches get to decide who replaces an injured player and unless bynum goes on a tear, my guess is that pau would play center and they would replace yao with another pf.

butidonthavemoneyI can’t believe that Deron Williams is in the top 5 voting for Western Conference guards.
Impressive, America. Very impressive.

HitsterParticipantIf Brendan Haywood who is Dallas’s back up C got a start in the All Star Game then something must be wrong, I could see logic in combining the PF/C votes and maybe having SF or even PG as a seperate one rather than C as a seperate one. This way the likes of Tim Duncan,Melo, Dirk etc would all be in contention for starter’s birth.
The other players will get in on the NBA voting so it doesn’t really matter as making an All Star game is as important as starting it. Steve Nash was a double MVP before he got his first All Star start and David Robinson only started 3 out of his 8 All Star games and Ray Allen has never started an AS game in 9 appearances.

Counting StarsParticipantLet Tim Duncan start at Center for the West since he plays at center so much. Maybe it’s time the Spurs move him to the center spot anyway. I remember a few years ago, they started a wing player (Jeremy Richardson, I think) at center so it didn’t affect Timmy D’s all-star bid at power forward. He has the size easily and he has the skills. I’d take Timmy D over most western conference centers anyway.
