halfdecayedParticipantI thought it was great this year.. Klay beating Curry at the shootout with a 27 pts round..and how about that 19 years old Booker going eliminating Redick and going up against the splash brothers in the final round..
I loved Aaron Gordon amazing dunks over the Magics mascot.. I thought he got robbed and should’ve won the contest though.. What did you all think about these events compared to recent years?

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI wouldn’t even just compare it to recent years. That was arguably the best 3 point shootout and arguably the best dunk contest in All Star history. Insane performances from Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Zach LaVine, and Aaron Gordon.

ZouldiersParticipantAaron Gordon had me lying on the floor for those inhumane dunks man. Zach may have won the trophy but damn both guys won this night.
Klay beating Steph Curry was a nice touch and Booker was just as impressive going up against the splash brothers and KAT beating Thomas in the skills challenge man that is nice.
Overall, Great all star saturday night.

llperezloved the 3 point shootout. I won 50$ with klay winning. I had klay, redick, booker and harden while my bro had curry, lowry, middelton and mccolum.
but then i had to leave for work before dunk contest. SO it was pretty good?

marcusfizer21ParticipantDon’t mean to overhype it but it was an exciting duel between Gordon and LaVine. Aaron Gordon’s dunks are insane! He should’ve won IMO

McDunkinIt was amazing. Maybe the best in the last 10 or so years.
A thing I noticed with Gordon is not only were his dunks amazing but if you noticed he didn’t even do the “shoulder push off” that most dunkers do when jumping over people. It could have turned ugly if he did while the mascot was on the scooter.
And somewhere my boy James “Flight” White was crying over a drink while watching Lavine do free throw line dunks he had been doing since high school but missed when he finally had his chance a few years back.

halfdecayedParticipantI’d say it was one of the best ever.. The announcers also mentionned that it was the best they ever saw.. Lavine and Gordon had 3 dunk off.. But the Vince Carter dunk contest will always be the the best in my eyes. .

SmooveKRYPTParticipantVince’s performance was the greatest ever, but everyone knew who was winning that one after the first dunk. This as a Contest was better. Both guys had to put down 6 dunks. Gordon’s last dunk getting a 47 was a joke, I can’t think of another player in the league who can pull that off besides maybe Gerald Green

holefillers1ParticipantVine carter dunk contest was pretty amazing. Steve Francis and Tracy Mcgrady each scored 50 pt dunks. Then Carter to it to another level. But this year is right with it.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantIf I remember right, those 2 combined only had 3 50 pt dunks in that contest… Gordon had that by himself and 2 others that were 50 caliber. LaVine also had 5 50pt dunks and a 49

holefillers1ParticipantCarter and McGrady were star players. Stevie Franchise wasn’t far off. Gordon and LaVine are not. Great dunkers though.

Reptilian MonkParticipantBest Dunk Contest between two dunkers. Gordon had two dunks over the mascot which were superhuman never seen anything like it. Lavine was incredible between the legs from free throw line beats Jordans one handed dunk from free throw line. The athletes evolve and are more athletic with time, great performance by Gordon and Lavine

Hype MachineCurry and Thompson are too good at shooting the basketball.
Whoever the shooting coach is at Golden State, hes the best in the business.

For_Never_EverParticipantIt was good because both events weren’t one sided. It was Mano A Mano Steph vs Klay, Gordan vs Lavine going down to the wire that made it great.

Hype MachineWatching KAT win the skills competition was sweet.
I cant remember have the players cross paths like that before.
The threat of collisions made it more exciting.

For_Never_EverParticipantThat was really exciting because they were in direct competition with each other at the same time. It got everyone on the edge of their seats. It’s like when two runnners are neck an neck trying to cross the finish line.

ZachAttackParticipantThe Dunk Contest was the best I’ve ever seen. But I’ve only been watching them since like 2008. So I didn’t see the Vince Carter one. All Star Saturday night was almost becoming as much of a joke as Friday and Sunday… But this year was really enjoyable to watch overall. Especially with the overall competitiveness. Even the simple addition of the two players going head to head made it just that much more exciting… Overall, a great Saturday night and a one to go in the history books.

BleedGreen808ParticipantGordon brought some ridiculous dunks and that last one should have been a 50 too. Amazing what he and Lavine are capable of doing while in the air.

SubZeroParticipantSkills challenge – ecstatic my boy KAT won the challenge! Nice to see the big guys beat the little guys lol, and also crazy that 3 of the 4 big guys all came from Kentucky. Hopefully Skal figures it out and can be put in that list someday…
3 point shootout – actually picked Klay to win, but the pleasant surprise of the competition was Devin Booker going toe to toe with the Splash Brothers. Everyone knows he’ll be one of the best shooters in the league for many years, but he’s only 19 and he’s stepping up to arguably 2 of the 5 best shooters ever. Individually, Larry Bird had the best performance, but this was one of the best overall contests
Dunk contest – LaVine was doing dunks that were 50s in every other contest so they didn’t want to rate him below a 50, but they couldn’t rate Gordon over a 50, even though most of his dunks were better (the midair chair, my goodness). That’s the only reason Gordon didn’t win. Regardless, it was the best dunk contest I’ve ever seen, and imo will go down in history with Jordan vs. Dominique.

cabbycabParticipantGordon stole the show, but somehow came out empty handed. Guy is truly a freak.
Steph is the best shooter in the world, but once Klay catches fire, it’s game over.
As an aside, Drummond seems like a really cool dude. Very likable.

EspressoParticipantI liked Gordons last dunk same, or possibly even more than the mascots… he put the ball behind his head in mid air then did reverse. Just sick!
Considering Lavine didnt jump from the free throw line what made that between the leg so special?… for Lavine.
I simply feel like is gonna take something special to beat Lavine’s insane long jumps, and we saw that tonight.

phila9012ParticipantThe NBA has to be happy with saturday night. They have star players in the competitions like thomas, davis, cousins, green in the skills challenge. They had curry, klay, harden, lowry in th three point contest and drummond in the dunk contest. They had young players towns, booker, lavine, and gordon perform great. All three events were great and came down to the wire. As a twolves fan it is nice to see the young players doing great at these things even if it means nothing. Towns could be an all star next year if they get a good coach.
