FastAndFuriousParticipantWhen Lebron first appeared in a 2k game(2k3) his overall rating was a 76…Why tha heck is John Wall and 81 on 2k11? Good game but crappy ratings also Russell Westbrook an 81??? No way

Stojakovicfor3ParticipantI agree. The game is amazing, but their ratings do suck. Dirk an 83? Redick a 66? Durant a 91? JaVale McGee a 59? You gotta be kidding

cp33ParticipantThe ratings aren’t perfect but you have to realize they have changed a lot since 03. Of course Lebron was better than a 76, and they realized that they made a mistake with that. They have made rookies a lot better since then. I think they also base players ratings on what they did last season and even before that. Javale McGee is going to be a stud soon, but why make him an 80+ if he hasn’t proven anything yet. Rooks obviously haven’t proven anything yet, so it is based on what they did in college. I still think McGee deserves better ratings. Somewhere around a 75. If this is the only wrong thing in the game, then I can live with it. The graphics and gameplay are good enough for me.

cp33ParticipantIf anything angers me about this game, its the team ratings.
The Hornets and the Suns are way too low.

FreeJasonryParticipantYou know you can always just manually change the ratings to what you seem is fitting for the player. That’s what I’m going to do when i get it. Just like when you download the draft class from 2k share you have to adjust ratings and players to make it as realistic as possible.

IndianaBasketballParticipant2K is using a completely different ratings system now than they were in 2003.
McGee averaged 6.4 points, 4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks last season. What’s he supposed to be rated based on those numbers? I’m sure his athleticism and blocks are good. He really hasn’t show much else though, unless you’re counting summer league. They’ll update his rating as the season progresses.
The ratings aren’t perfect, but I don’t see anything major… Plus they’ll update them. 2K11 is as advertised.

WizardofOzParticipantPeople might think Javale’s statistics are low, but that’s only because he averaged only 16.1 minutes per game, and he wasn’t starting. Imagine if he WAS starting. He led the league in blocked shots per 48 minutes, so if he was starting, he might have led the league in blocked shots. So I think that 2k definitely bombed on his rating. And I expect him to breakout this season. So if he does, 2k better raise his rating A LOT through those updates. 2K bombed on a lot of other ratings too.

doubledribblerParticipantI don’t see a big deal with the ratings. They can be changed or you can wait for the updates because those things are going to change as we see rookies play and then some guys are going to play better or worse. As for Lebron, the rating system now is completely different than even when he came in the league. It is based off of way more things.Comparatived to other players I’m fine with Dirk being an 83. He is an amazing offensive player, which I’m sure his attributes reflect, but he doesn’t rebound very well (though he has his moments) and it’s not like his defense has gotten better. He would probably get a big boost in ratings if he was athletic, but that is not the case. If I am correct, he was also an 83 last year so at least you see the 2k team seeing no real dropoff. I think when a guy like Dirk is an 83 and Amare is an 86 you start to see some real separation between the really good players and the best players in the league.

SteroidParticipantLike you said, the game has evolved SOOOOO much since 2003. There are way more individual ratings that make up an overall rating compared to the old games. Moreover, the rating system is much more different than what it used to be. Also, the overall ratings don’t tell the whole story anyway.

andxxxParticipantI got the game and they improved mcgee’s rating to a 66 and joakim noah’s rating improved as well
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/05/2010 - 10:27am #409503
Michael.S.ParticipantThey give you that option for a reason. If you don’t like that Granger has a 79 three point rating put it at 84. The ratings aren’t set in stone, and could be altered at any time.

McDunkinJeez man, everybody stop complaining. There will be updates by 2k sports and other players on 2kshare after the season starts, or like FreeJasonry said fix them yourself.
Even the godly nba2k isnt perfect out of the box, it never has been and probably never will be.
just be patient.

stanford hoopswhy would mcgee rating be higher. i just read that hilton armstrong has been much more impressive then mcgee in training camp and even from watching the scrimmage he still doesnt have any real go to moves and just plays through his athleticism ala a young tyson chandler. seems to be the case with people if youre big and athletic then you must have great potential even if you arent really that skilled

Zeke33ParticipantJaVele Mcgee is highly overrated. he has crazy potential but hes not very good right now. maybe hel have a breakout year but dominating summer league doesnt impress me. and im from Reno so i should be on his side

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantI don’t own a psp, xbox, etc so is the game good for pc?

SteroidParticipantWhy would you change the player ratings? There is a reason why the developers put the ratings like that, and changing them could cause an imbalance. If a player’s rating isn’t justified then it will change along the season by the people who made the game and understand the value of the ratings. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t change them, but to have the game as "realistic" as possible, let the developers handle the ratings.

IndianaBasketballParticipant"There is a reason why the developers put the ratings like that, and changing them could cause an imbalance."
Lmao… Yep, the game will exlode if you change the ratings!
Come on bruh… It’s a video game.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 10/08/2010 - 8:16am #410337
SteroidParticipantI never even said the game would explode. Exaggerate more… What I’m saying is if something isn’t broke, don’t fix it. "It’s a video game", but no one wants to play a unrealistic basketball game. If you want guys like Carlos Boozer dunking from the free throw line and such, go play NBA Elite whenever that comes out, bruh.. That is the "video game" for you.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI was just teasing you lol.
I prefer not to mess with the ratings either. I like to keep it as realistic as possible. I let 2K do their updates.
However, I have no problem with people who edit ratings. That’s why the feature is available. Saying it’ll cause an "imbalance" is comedy lol.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantYou know what I noticed today? The player ratings in 2K11 and 2K10 are eerily similar………
0 - Posted on: Sat, 10/09/2010 - 11:30am #410643
IndianaBasketballParticipantI noticed that too. It’s like 2K just took the ratings from the latest update on 2K10 and transfered them over to 2K11.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantLazy-arses.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 10/09/2010 - 11:38am #410647
OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantJust kidding. I have much respect for this game, and they’ll probably fix the ratings in a couple of weeks. I really hope that they update the rosters for the classic teams.
No Rick Mahorn? Vinnie “Microwave” Johnson? Greg Anthony? Doc Rivers on the Knicks? Austin Carr? Howard Eisley? Shandon Anderson? Doug Christie?

WORD. I played with that NY team, I think 94? And I was like man…where’s Hubert Davis and Greg Anthony. I also think they should add another team: 93 Phoenix Suns. That team was beast.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 10/09/2010 - 4:56pm #410706
IndianaBasketballParticipantTwo teams I thought they should’ve included:
94-95 Indiana Pacers – This is the first team Jordan faced when he came out of retirment
94-95 Orlando Magic – Shaq, Penny, Nick Anderson and Horace Grant knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs
0 - Posted on: Sat, 10/09/2010 - 5:29pm #410715
HaleParticipantI really wish they had a team with a young Shaq like Indiana said, also a Houston team with Olajuwon and a Lakers team with Kareem.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 10/09/2010 - 5:35pm #410718
IndianaBasketballParticipantA young Shaq and young Penny Hardaway would’ve been fun to play with. Penny was damn near one of everyone’s favorite players back in the day.
