Nate Wolters Is Talented, But Might Have A Limited Upside
Nate Wolters is a very talented and crafty player, with a natural feel for how to run a team, play pick & roll, and consistently show that he has the ability to be a consistent scoring threat with very good ball handling and shooting skills. He's also a very good decision maker who plays calm and cool in big games. What I like is that at times he shows alot of mental toughness and doesn't back down when playing against individuals who might be more talented then him. He also has the ability on the college level to make the big play or big shot, when his team needs it the most. Love him, and he has the potential to develop into a solid starting or back-up point guard
- He's a mix between Steve Blake And Kirk Hinrich
What thought in your mind makes you think that he has limited upside? Damian Lilliard was a 4 year player and because of that scouts said he didn't have a high ceiling but yet he's looking like a future star; who know how good Nate can be
I love Nate's game and I'm very jealous of the skill set he posesses, but I just feel like what you see from nate now in college. Is what you will see Nate play like in the NBA. Based on his strenghts and weaknesses. He already seems like he's close to reaching his full potential as a basketball player while he's already playing in college. But believe me the things he does well now are qualities that will allow him to develop into a pretty good pro point guard. For example, Steve Blake And Kirk Hinrich play now in the NBA exactly how they played in college. And really haven't developed more beyond that. But they both have had very successful careers as reliable role players. Which is the kind of player that I think nate will be in the NBA. A very talented and skilled role player. At the sametime he could also develop into a very dynamic scorer, shooter, and passer. Similar to a Steph Curry- But that's a Very Very Very Big If!
I compare Wolters to Bob Sura, a less athletic Jeremy Lin with a better left hand, or Andre Miller. A shorter Alexey Shved or E'twaun Moore have similar games as well.
The site has him as that and they do look to have similar measurements ( nates a bit taller ) and both have great creativity perfect for an ideal back up pg.
