mythbusters: busting the myths of nbadraft.net

Danilo Gallinari will never be like Dirk....... No fadaway shot in his arsenal, isnt 7 feet tall, and doesnt have as good of a mid range game. Hes more like Peja Stookavic.

Al Jefferson is a legit 20-10 guy when healthy and is worth every dollar of his contract, he had two great years in a row at Minnesota, and is only 24!!! no way people should be proposing Hedo Turkoglu, and Marco Bellinelli, for him (worst trade proposal ive ever heard)

Elton Brand is not as good as he once was, but hes also not that bad, if he gets traded to a team like the Bulls he could average 15 8 pretty easily, hes just a bad fit for the Princeton offense, im taking him contract, and maybe even the second overrall pick too.

Cousins attitude is way overhyped. What did he do but elbow a guy once? Kobe does it all the time and is the best player in the world, Cousins is just a rugged player, not dirty, he should be taken with either the 2nd, or 3rd pick.

one thing

i'm not worried about cousins elbowing people which would prolly happen a few times not that big of a deal. I'm worried about his work ethic. He has one of the highest body fat percentages. I don't think he cares about being great. His character shows that money is way higher than on his list than winning or improving his game and working hard in both the off season and regular season.

he does have the world of potential but i have big doubts if he will ever tap into it. being big won't get it done in the nba. i think there are safer picks early on but if you need a center you might have to take a chance. i like favors over him for sure

unbusting

True. Gallinari isn't going to be Dirk. I think he has potential to be better than Peja because his defence is WAY better than pejas.

Agree with you on Jefferson. But he's not healthy yet... so the question is, what are the odds that he'll be 100% healthy ever again?

Brand is a different story. It seems to me like his injury is permanent... and that he's in a decline now. I wouldn't want anything to do with Brand.

Cousins does have great potential. But seriously, you think he's better than Turner or Favors??? There's no way he's as good a prospect as Turner, who is basically Brandon Roy with crazy rebounding ability, and without the knee concerns.

For me, the biggest problem with Cousins is not the attitude thing.... it's his lack of athleticism/conditioning. I find it disconcerting that he's that heavy, has low lift on his jump, etc. I don't think he's as good a prospect as Favors, who has incredible raw athleticism and just needs time to gain experience.

The attitude issue doesn't help though. I'm not saying cousins has a bad attitude, but it doesn't seem like he's willing to work as hard as Favors, etc.

I agree that Cousins is

I agree that Cousins is worthy of the number 2 pick and I would add if he has a better personality and was 10 lb lighter which he said he is working on getting down to, I could see him as the number one pick.

Elton Brand is just a terrible fit for Philly and it is always the following year a player is feeling normal after a knee injury

Gallo may not be Dirk because his game is actually different but that does mean he will not be a great player. I think he may be a better 3 point shooter than Dirk but needs to add the other parts to his game that Dirk did not have early on either.

Jefferson's problem on Minny is they need to pair him with an athletic big man to help on defense but his offense and rebounding are solid
