tennislegendParticipantworking on top 100 and possibly a few improvments to top 50

OhCanada-ParticipantGreat list. Id move Wade ahead of Nash and Paul. Curry isnt on the list but I’d also move him into that range. He changed way kids play the game in a way only players in the top 20 have by being byfar the best 3-point shooter alltime and is the foundation of one of the most dominant teams in NBA history. I think he will retire top 20.

Wello009ParticipantGreat list.
I like the Steph Curry call to be included, anyone who changes or helps shape the games deserves recognition.
Anyone think anymore current players could make their way onto this list in the future?

Miko4rm206ParticipantNo Gary Payton tho? Reggie Miller could also possibly break top 50

tennislegendParticipantWestbrook, Curry, Harden will definitely make it . Anthony davis could end up top 20 or 25 if he could stay healthy but he gets injured and hasnt had playoff success. I would love to see New Orleans be a title contender in the future. He’s a great player

holefillers1ParticipantOnly observation I will make is Barkley being too low or Karl Malone being too high

nath09ParticipantWell done mate. Great post. Creates some good debate….. So here’s my debatable observation; there are a hell of a lot of big big names sitting under Dominique Wilkens. Doesn’t make it wrong, just my 2 cents.

SubZeroParticipantThese type of debates make knowing the difference between Isiah Thomas and Isaiah Thomas pretty important lol

2quick4uParticipant. Kobe Bryant at Nº8 over Russell and Duncan is just blasphemy.
. as much as I love Larry Bird, he cannot be placed at Nº6 over Russell; i’ve probably been the toughest on Russell on this site, because people used to place as a top3 or even as the top player of all time because of his 11 rings, but a top 3 player cannot be a one way player and Russell was pretty limited offensively. That being said, he managed to be competitive every season of the 13 he played and not only won 11 rings but also 5 MVP’s while Bird in the other hand couldn’t make his celtics competitive during his last 4 years because of his physical problems.
I believe Duncan should be ahead of Bird too; Duncan is probably the most underrated player of all time…he is an anomaly; winning a championship after 15 years in the league while still being the franchise player is something within reach of a few chosen ones.
. Oscar Robertson cannot be placed over Olajuwon; Robertson has probably been the most overrated player in history because if it wasn’t for Westbrook, he would still be considered a top 5 player like people used to rank him…during his last 3 seasons in cincinnati while he was in his prime, he couldn’t even take the team to the playoffs and if it wasn’t for Kareem he would have 0 rings..he’s lived to many years of that triple double season..
. Bob Pettit is probably the 2nd most underrated player in history behind Duncan and he should be ahead of Big 0 too. this man won 2 MVP awards and scored 50 points in the final game in the finals against that green machine led by Russell, whom is considered the best defender of all time..of course st.louis won the ring..
. Karl Malone over Moses Malone¿?
. Kevin Garnett over Nowitzki¿?
. what is Chris Paul even doing on that list ¿?

Ahkasi ClayParticipantMalone and Timmy need to be higher,
Paul Arizin is always forgotten.

tennislegendParticipantI did not forget Arizin he should be more like top 75

r377ParticipantI would personally take Bird over Lebron.
Bird was more clutch, won more 3 point shoot out contests and posted 50-40-90. Remember everyone used to call Lebron James, LeChoke…
Lebron is so ball dominant his stats are more padded than Bird’s. Bird also didn’t have to run to Moses Malone and Isiah Thomas to build a superteam to win his championships….

SubZeroParticipantWho cares that people used to call him Lechoke? Lebron haters are some of the most irrational fans in all of sports, people still call him the queen of traveling and LeFlop when that went out the window a long time ago (and even if it didn’t, he was never worse than plenty of other guys). Also, why exactly do 3 point contests matter? Craig Hodges must be top 10 all time. I don’t disagree on Bird being more clutch but that’s not all that makes a player
I love Bird, but that last sentence is ridiculous. He didn’t have to run to Isiah Thomas or Moses Malone because he played with Kevin Mxhale, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, and Bill Walton. That team was better than any team Lebron’s ever been on

frogmanParticipantLol you sound like some of those idiots on Facebook that irrationaly everytime Lebron’s name comes up.
You got the Lechoke, ran to a superteam and lack of clutchness.
Just remember hairline and flopping next post.
Everyone is titled to their opinons… yours is just wrong.

r377ParticipantA case could be made for Dennis Rodman, there is more to bball than just putting the ball through the hoop. Rodman was mentally tough and was one of the greatest rebounders and defenders I have ever seen…He was so rebellious he actually didn’t want to score on purpose just to prove a point…

The GoatParticipantGood job, everyone has a different opinion so impossible for all to agree. They are the same top 12 I’d have albeit in a different order.
No Chris Paul for me, or Jason Kidd. Can think of many in their ballpark- Paul Pierce, Wes Unseld, Bill Walton, Chauncey Billups, Tim Hardaway, Paul Arazin, Dennis Rodman, Reggie Miller, Steph Curry, Mourning, Mutombo, Tony Parker, Ginobili, Webber, Gary Payton, Ben Wallace, Westbrook, Tom Chambers, Kevin Johnson, Mark Price, Shawn Kemp, Gail Goodrich, Chris Bosh..
Kidd ranks higher than Paul but I don’t think they were both clearly better than all of these guys and this lot aren’t even in your 50

OhCanada-ParticipantIm pretty sure everyone knows Im not a Queen James being a Raps fan and due to his diving and constant crying but either way you gotta give credit where its due. People tend to misunderstand how dominant Lebron actually is. The guy walks into buildings and shuts teams down. Hes never been injured. Could realistically be MVP every single year. Can play every position and has no weakness. He really is the best basketball player ever. He may never be recognized as better than Jordan on these lists but its hard to deny he was the more complete player.

HitsterParticipantIf you are looking at players at their peaks I think T-Mac and Grant Hill should be in the list but any choice is always subjective especially the further we go down any list. The top few players we will likely always agree on although order can differ from person to person.
I also think Steph Curry has to be on the list as a double MVP and possibly the best shooter ever plus he lead a team to the title.
As regards LBJ, I think that anyone calling him a choker is very wrong, 3 titles is a huge achievement. He’s not as good as MJ in my opinion but no-one ever really was.
