My thoughts on the Charlotte Bobcats..

I'm not sure how interesting this will be for some, but I have an idea I'd like to let out. I Think the Bobcats should try to get Shabazz Muhammad and Mason Plumlee/James Michael McAdoo in the draft with their(potential) two lottery picks. I think a lineup consisting of Kemba, Shabazz, MKG, and Plumlee/Mcadoo could develop nicely together over some years time. I think it could be quite similar to how the Sonics/Thunder rebuilt their team.

Kemba does the playmaking, Shabazz does some scoring, MKG does it all and will need to develop more, and Plumlee as an athletic big sounds good to me.

Let me know how you guys feel about this combination.

As a Bulls Fan

I like that lineup because the Bulls have the Bobcats unprotected first round pick in 2016.

MULLENS BEASTING?

12 pts & 8reb would be solid EXCEPT for the fact that he's shooting 38% from the field as a 7ft 275lb center and averages less than 1 blk/game WHILE PLAYING 31 MIN/G. And somebody must have told him to mold his game after Dirk because he is shooting nearly half his shot attempts from behind the arc and only connecting on 31%.

Decent bench player yes...future Bobcats starter? Nah.

I think they should look to

I think they should look to get either McLemore or Shabazz for their first pick. I agree that they should use their other pick to get a big, but I think they need to get a big who can score, because none of theirs really can at this point. Maybe try to get Olynyk to pair up with Biyombo's defense and have Mullens coming off the bench

Olynyk will be a bust i have

Olynyk will be a bust i have no faith in the fact that hel play well in the NBA. Guys averaging 7rbg for his size and the fact that hes an upperclassmen he should be averaging more. Plus the level of competition hes facing is a bit lower than other bigs so for that also I expect him to average more to take him seriously for the league. If the bobcats want a scoring big theres really two options this year and thats Zeller and Isiah Austin. I have concerns on how Austin will develop as a rebounder cause of his style of play but on the flip side with his ability to shoot that brings alot of potential and could create more space for the big playing with him where as Zeller is more of a low risk I feel like what u see is what u get nothing flashy but still an effective efficient player. If they have a top 5 pick id go with Zeller. No contending team will replicate the OKC model of having two very defensive bigs with no post game cause no other team has KD and Westbrook. Even the other super build teams wont replicate OKC cause no super team has a pg like Westbrook who shoots like crazy and right now asides from Mullens Charlottes bigs are alllllll defense. If you add someone in the post who is a threat then they already potentially have guys in Kmba and MKG who can handle the rest of the load and then wasrole players galore to compliment them but rightnow anyone defending against the bobcats knows to just lock down the perimeter and give thema hard time driving never worrying about whose getting positioning behind them

"Guys averaging 7rbg for his

"Guys averaging 7rbg for his size and the fact that hes an upperclassmen he should be averaging more."

1) Olynyk is playing 25.4 minutes per game. Gonzaga is blowing a lot of teams out, and their guys aren't packing on huge minute loads. Per40, he is averaging 11.

2) Gonzaga is one of the best rebounding teams in the country. It is not just individual numbers, one guy pulls down a missed shot. They are 10th in the country in rebounding rate. Elias Harris, Przemek Karnowski, Sam Dower, and Guy Landry Edi are good rebounders too.

"Plus the level of competition hes facing is a bit lower than other bigs so for that also I expect him to average more to take him seriously for the league."

West Virginia, Clemson, Oklahoma, Davidson, Washington State, Illinois, Kansas State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Santa Clara (twice), Saint Mary's (twice), Butler, and BYU (second meeting tonight). It isn't that a soft schedule.

"I have concerns on how Austin will develop as a rebounder cause of his style of play but on the flip side with his ability to shoot that brings alot of potential and could create more space for the big playing with him"

Kelly Olynyk is a better shooter on the perimeter than Isaiah Austin in addition to being better in the post.

"Charlottes bigs are alllllll defense."
Well, that makes them being one of the worst interior defenses in the league look so much better.

In a good position...if they keep being just bad enough

The Bobcats should be in a good position by the 2014-2015 season, they have (knock on wood) two lottery picks this upcoming draft and if the Pistons show just enough improvement and the 'Cats are in the same position, two lottery picks the season after that....

Four lottery picks in two years? Even the worst teams have to show some kind of improvement after that!

Also, pick McLemore and Issac Austin with the picks this year

bazz

I'd love to draft Shabazz Muhammad....embodies everything the bobcats want a hard worker a guy who would do anything to win and WANTS to win....fits with Kemba and MKG and Biyombo with that attitude.....Bazz could be our go to scorer possibly he has a good offensive game can score in a variety of ways...really strong for a SG...and then possibly IF we get the portland pick i'd go for a big probably...idk who yet though but possibly olynyk idk yet....but its looking more like we will be getting 3 picks in 2014...ours, portlands and detroits

Assuming Bazz is gone another

Assuming Bazz is gone another name that I want to throw out there is Marcus Smart. You said "Kemba does the playmaking" but I feel Kembas a more natural scorer so this would allow Marcus Smart to play more of a playmaking role while defending the 2. But I really dothink they could use a scorer like Bazz first and formost

There isn't anybody in the 2013 draft

There isn't anybody in the 2013 draft that can be the savior of the Bobcats, they should look to try to get two top fives picks in the next draft because a rookie duo of any of the 2014 top five prospects would be enough to make the Bobcats dynamic. But if they're keeping their picks and assuming that they like their current pieces thenMcLemore, Smart or Muhammad with their top pick and they just need an NBA ready player with their second pick Plumlee or Olynyk come to mind. They cannot keep banking on potential, they need contributors now. I feel sorry for loyal Bobcats fans.

Ah, another thread clammering

Ah, another thread clammering over Mr. Me, Myself, and I, Shabazz Muhammad. Why wouldn't the Cats want McLemore instead? And they need a post player with skill not Mason Plumlee, he pretty much fits in with what they got.
