The Splash DocParticipantJust finished doing some research and here’s what Denver wants in order
1. CAP relief
2. 1st rounder this year and in future
3. young player and/or expiring deal
Here’s the trade
Knicks get- Carmelo Anthony, JR Smith and Sonny Weems
Nuggets get- Wilson Chandler, Bill Walker, Eddy Curry, 2014 NYK 1st, 2011 Toronto 1st, Landry Fields, Kelenna Azubuike and rights to Jerome Jordan
Raptors get- Danilo Gallinari, Andy Rautins and Chris Andersen
Knicks Starting 5- Mozgov-Stoudemire-Anthony-Mason-Felton
Knicks Bench- Randolph-Smith-Weems-Douglas
Nuggets Starting 5- Nene-Harrington-Chandler-Afflalo-Billups
Nuggets Bench- Lawson-Martin-Walker-Azubuike-Curry
Raptors Starting 5- Bargnani-Johnson-Gallinari-Derozan-Calderon
Raptors Bench- Jack-Davis-Andersen-Rautins-Alabi-Klieza
I kno ima get an earful but I put alot of thought into this trade

mikeyvthedonParticipantBut that trade screws over Toronto. Why on earth would Toronto trade this years first round pick, even for the services of Gallinari, who is incredibly similar to Bargnani/Kleiza as far as strengths/weaknesses? I mean, I think Melo is getting traded to New York, but in my mind Toronto would want no part of this deal, even for Leo’s son. Plus you have them trading Sonny Weems? Do you hate the Raptors? This would hold back the Raptors for years on the rebuilding trail. The first round pick NEXT YEAR is enough to just yank Toronto out of any deal that does not include a bonafide NBA All-Star, and even than it would be slightly crazy. No matter how good Danilo might end up being, and he was the 6th pick two years ago, it is more than likely the Raptors will be drafting top 5 next year. So, you definitely give the Nuggets the best trade I have seen yet as far as looking towards the future, and the Knicks have incentive, but the Raptors just create a hot plate of fire Bryan Colangelo immediately if they even took this deal seriously.

sheltwon3ParticipantKnicks should get Melo but this is not the deal to do it. There are so many flaws with this trade, it isnt even funny.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThis trade makes sesne because The Raptors will have a high pick and despite being similar to Kleiza, Gallo is a stud who would fit well within the Raptors system. But The Raptors pick would almost certainly be top 10 protected, atleast top 5 because they are not going to trade Irving, Barnes, Knights, or Selby for a chance at Gallo.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipant"The New York Knicks have made significant progress in recent days in their efforts to acquire Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets, a source told ESPN.com Tuesday." Unless significant process means Denver has suddenly taken stupid pills, it probably does not mean a whole lot. Nobody wants the Knicks garbage, which is and will continue to be their downfall. Sorry, three second round picks from this past draft are not assets in a trade. Nobody in the league thinks all that highly of Wilson Chandler, and I am willin to bet anyone that J.R. Smith is held in higher regard around the league. Danilo Gallinari is not going to get anyone to give up a likely lottery pick. Maybe a team like Orlando would give up their first rounder in the 20s. Maybe Portland would move their slightly lower pick in the 20s. Not Toronto. Heck, Linas Kleiza is a better player. And the value of a first round pick in four years is laughable.

ZeroParticipantBad trade is bad. For the Raptors that is. They wouldn’t give away a 1st round pick knowing they suck and that’ll end up being a high pick. They probably wouldn’t trade Sonny either because of the chemistry he has with the team and the fact that he has improved over the summer and is still pretty young.

Toronto16ParticipantThat is a horrible trade for Toronto. Horrible. They essentially are trading Harrison Barnes/Perry Jones/Kyle Irving for Danilo Gallinari. Your nuts.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantWhy would Toronto help another Team get another spoiled star…they passed up on Beasley because they didn’t want to help anyone else get better…
