MY favorites For Naismath Player of the Year Award going into 2013-2014

1. Marcus Smart
2.Doug McDermott
3. Russ Smith
4. Adrien Payne( my dark horse)
5. Mitch Mcgary

I left off freshman, although I could easily see a Jabari Parker, Andrews Wiggins, or Aaron Gordon get on the list.

I think Gary Harris will

I think Gary Harris will breakthrough in a big way. If Wiggins, Parker, and Randle are anywhere near as good advertised they should end up on most shortlists as well.

I like Dougey to win it. He's

I like Dougey to win it. He's my favourite player on the college scene right now, and he is one of the most versatile scorers in the country, I like his chances if Creton can make a relatively deep run.

I'll admit, i am incredibly biased but I think CJ Fair will be in the mix at the end of the year. He is incredibly consistent and will be the go to guy and leader of next years syracuse team. I truly think he will be able to make some noise and be in the running.

Marcus Smart. I think he has

Marcus Smart. I think he has the potential to be an absolute superstar. He's deceptively athletic (a la James Harden) and he has a big strong body for a PG. I do think he will be a PG at the next level. We'll have to see how much he has improved over the summer but if he can be more consistent with his jumper I like him to win the award and I think he'll give Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker a run for their money as the #1 pick.

It's hard to make a list like

It's hard to make a list like this and factor in how the freshman will adjust to college basketball but if I were to make a top 10 list of players then I'd go with this.

1. Marcus Smart-Oklahoma State
2. Doug McDermott-Creighton
3. Russ Smith-Louisville
4. Andrew Wiggins-Kansas
5. C.J. Fair-Syracuse
6. Jabari Parker-Duke
7. Glenn Robinson III-Michigan
8. Aaron Craft-Ohio State
9. Julius Randle-Kentucky
10. Elfrid Payton-UL Lafayette (Dark Horse)
