AwardedBallerParticipantI’m starting to really think many of you know nothing about basketball and I mean nothing at all.
The constant trashing of LeBron is starting to become irritating, I’m not even allowed to enjoy my favorite player play due to everyone’s disliking of the man.
Never would I have thought that a man who averaged 35,13 and 9 during a finals he’s missing 31 million dollars worth of players due to injury (NBA salary cap is 61.7 million and he’s making 20 million, let the marinate for a moment.) would face so much hate from these so called "basketball fans", statistics in the finals such as the Cavaliers scored 6 baskets in 5 games with LeBron off the court (Delly, Smith and Shump were 0-21 on FG’s in this same span). Neil Paine of FiveThirtyEight.com used advanced metrics and stats to rank this Cavaliers team against every finals team of the last 25 years. LeBron has had 3 of the worst 10 and 2 of the worst 3 finals teams in the last 25 years and this means nothing to you people? I understood the displeasure of LeBron after the 2011 loss but now this is just becoming awful.
Whats crazy about it is if this had been Kobe or Jordan everyone would be riding these performances and citing these as valiant efforts from all time greats. You people who trash him at anything he does are really just missing out on greatness, are gonna be the same people as grown men talking about what you witnessed out of LeBron and Jordan in your upbringings and it’s crazy that this guy is really getting trashed when he loss to a team who has the 3rd most wins in NBA history with a cast that goes 7 deep with players who wouldn’t do much on winning teams in the NBA.
I can honestly debate this all day so if anyone has anything to say regarding this feel free to state your opinion because I’m interested in what all the hate is about.

halfdecayedParticipantmost of the guys trashing him on here don’t know basketball I guess if they can’t see how great he was, one of the great finals performance ever, all people see is the 2-4 finals record, without realizing how good Kobe or MJ’s team were much better than Lebron’s team this year with all the injuries and the 7 Cavs. Funny how those people would be quiet if he had won, just salty people man.

TimberTrollParticipantReading all this Lebron crap this morning put me in a bad mood. He willed his team to a 2-1 lead in the series and very easily could’ve been 3-0. Before it started I didn’t think they even had a chance to make it a 6 game series, and that was with Irving. Very dissapointed with all the ignorance. I have never been a Lebron fan, but what he was doing was special.

Bruh you’re a child get off this site, if you don’t acknowledge a player who led both teams in points, rebounds and assist; one of those teams carrying the third most wins all time with the best shooter we have probably ever seen, then you’re just stupid hate to resort to insults. LeBron is as good as every player you just named, you hating on the man, shut up and go pick up a childern’s book, you a child, go play where childern belong.
He said God lmao, brah how old are you?

RUDEBOY_Participantwhat i dont understand is why so many people are complaining about his fg % & efficiency rating? considering the offensive limitations and low b ball iqs of his supporting cast,he had to dominant the ball..1 on 5 never wins…
i thought it was an entertaining series.(even though the refs missed a ton of calls).
i really hate that there wont be any nba games for a few months….

For_Never_EverParticipantI don’t get it are people not allowed to critique why the Cavs and Lebron didn’t win ? Kobe always got criticism when he didn’t win in playoffs or finals, and Jordan also until he didn’t give anyone the chance anymore.

BiggysmallsParticipantI won’t ever root for James because I grow tired of the endless attention he gets. ESPN should just cancel ESPN2 and change it to LeSPN with all the coverage they give him.
I also can’t stand watching him play, because its the same thing every single time. He holds the ball, and either drives to shoot or pass. He doesn’t move without the ball and he monopolizes the offense (sometimes out of necessity) and I find that style boring to watch.
With that said, he’s an incredible player. The Finals record of 2-4 is held against him for some reason, but its a team game so no individual "loses" to the opposition. The team loses.
I don’t really care about where he ranks as an "all time great"…he’s up there. Beyond that who the hell cares at this moment. Why is it an insult for people to not have him ranked the best? If someone thinks hes the best all time, more power to them.

river09ParticipantI’ll be honest, how Lebron willed that team to a finals is beyond me. If you take him away from the team that played in the finals you have a shell that would struggle to win 10 games in an entire regular season let alone be competitive in the playoffs (assuming Kyrie and Love are injured). It will be interesting how they improve the cast around him over the offseason.

Reptilian MonkParticipantAlot of Lebron hate comes from the media "attention" he gets. We now live in a social media age and 24 hours news cycle where information is constantly being directed at people. The Nba and the media constantly hype/give Lebron attention as an all time great because greats sell and make money. The Nba/media wants you to love or hate Lebron so you tune in and watch the Finals, it makes them millions. Same model Mayweather used to sell millions of pay per views. So don’t hate Lebron because he gets "too much attention" he doesnt create the attention, the media like ESPN creates this attention so they have a controversial athlete who when they talk about him gets them high ratings and money.
Yes I found his TV decision and not one, not two championships immature. However, he has matured and grown since then as all people do and has become a better leader. On the court he had an all time great finals. Yes, he is now is 2-4 in the Finals. Him leading a weak team in 2007 and 2015 to the Finals should be seen as positive and not a negative. People have their biases if they love Jordan/Kobe they will point out all the negative in Lebron because they are threatened and don’t want to adjust they way they see things. I grew up a huge Laker fan and I have adjusted being open minded now seeing Lebron as a better player than Kobe. To me Lebron is Top 5 all time right now, he is an all time great player, appreciate him while he’s here instead of constantly engaging in recreational negativity online. Lebron has a good amount of career left so judge him as an all time great when he is done with all of his accomplishments versus in the middle of his career.

bimirudParticipant… some of the attacks against LeBron are personal and not based on metrics. I won’t repeat any of the stats already mentioned on this thread because they speak for themselves. Personally I don’t know how much more LeBron needs to prove to anyone after winning two championships. Jerry West won one title and lost in 9 finals, and he’s "Mr. Clutch." Meanwhile Wilt Chamberlain "only" won 2, which is one more than West, and people say he’s a loser.
Like I say, it’s personal with some folks, and not based on the stats.

Memphis MadnessParticipantJordan had the right sytem and right guys around him.
I can see the Warriors getting a 3 peat. Would that mean that Steph Curry is up there with MJ, Russell, Kobe, or Shaq? One of those very few guys who have been the alpha dog on 3 peat teams?
Probably not. BUT, the Warriors SYSTEM, coaching, and PLAYERS around him will MAXIMIZE Steph’s title count just as the system, coaching, and SUPPORTING CAST maximized Jordan’s title count.
Was Bill Russell 5.5 times better than Wilt Chamberlain? No…
What about this? How many guys have been THE GUY on 6 Finals teams? I would say only him and Bill Russell and Michael Jordan. Magic, Kobe, and Duncan weren’t necessarily THE GUY on all those teams. Wilt was one of THE GUYS on that 69 win Lakers team along with Jerry West.
There is a hypothetical Top 10. LeBron is in it. He isn’t done yet, either. He has done some things no one else has done. Just give him that.

Meditated StatesParticipantSo what we are creating stats not used in back in the day to justify his finals losses? Spare me. 2-4 its not bad but it is what it is. Metrics, plus minus, whatever stats u stats guys who THINK u know everything say does not change the fact that people can say he is great and not view him as great as some of the other players. Eye test says to others, he is great but yeah we seen quite a few guys better. Rondo gets triple doubles all the time. More than Lebron over the last 4 or 5 years. Is he better? Hell no. When the time comes and you need that clutch scoring in the finals there are countless guys we could take over Lebron. Not hate it fact. Riding is calling it hate.

froggyParticipantIn my opinion there are many reasons for basketball fans to rank MJ and Kobe higher than Lebron. First his decision to go to Miami : great players (by great I’m speaking of the top 5-10, except for Chamberlain) spent all or most of their careers in the same franchise. They became the face of a franchise, or a city. Not mentioning he left before winning the NBA title, giving the impression of "giving up".
Then he’s just not as fun to watch as some of the "great" ones. His most efficient half court moves (drive, post up) rely mostly on strength/speed combination. He’s quite creative as a passer (but not as much as people think -> many of the assist come from double teams) but awfully not when he has to score. Kobe and MJ always found a way to create their own shoot, they had better dribble and fakes, you could be surprised any time.
Then he’s just too arrogant. Bragging that you are the best player of the world and then lose the NBA finals the day after, never smiling on the court, making a TV event to announce that you leave the city and people who worshiped you… while in the same time cameras spot your **** on national TV.
Lastly the guy is just complaining all the time. About refs, injuries (he put on crazy stats because of the injuries – he had to fill the blanks), the way he has to play basketball ("I don’t like playing isolation all the time"). MJ and Kobe would have put the blame on them first.

joe2324ParticipantLook, nobody could have willed this team this far with all these injuries. What Lebron did was unthinkable. To lose Love and Kyrie during the playoffs and still make it this far is a testament to his greatness. Imagine if Jordan lost Pippen and I don’t know Horace Grant or Kobe lost Shaq and Robert Horry. What if Magic lost Kareem and James Worthy during the playoffs? We’ll never know the answer to these questions, but we do know what happened with Lebron. He put the team on his shoulders and carried them all the way to finals. Lets be real here for a second. With the exception of Kyrie and Love, name one player other than Lebron that is starting on another team? Thompson? I don’t know about that, hes a great offensive rebounder but thats pretty much it. Delly? Absolutely not. JR Smith? Nope. Iman? Iman is a great perimeter defender and thats pretty much all you get out of him. So, basically, not one person on the Cavs in the finals other than Lebron is a true starter on any NBA team. Now, when you look at the Warriors, I see a team that is completely loaded. Klay, Curry, Draymond, Barnes and Iggy are all starting on any other team. Oh, and lets not forget, they didnt even use David Lee who would start on almost any other team when healthy. I give the warriors all the respect in the world, but this was not a fair fight, the cavs had no chance.

froggyParticipantShumpert was the starting shooting guard in New York last season and started EVERY game at the beginning of 2014-2015 season. Thompson started 82 games last year for Cleveland (12pts/9rbds) and I think he improved this year.
Mozgov seems to me like a legit starting center and has played well for the Cavs this season.
They’ve been a pretty good defensive team during these playoffs. Would the cavs have defended better with Love and Kyrie on the floor ? I seriously doubt it.

BiggysmallsParticipantI don’t mean to be that guy, but couple things:
1. you seem emotional about this. I could be reading you wrong, maybe I am. It seems as if you care about this topic an awful lot, which is okay, but if people are "haters", do they deserve your time at all?
2. Saying LeBron James isn’t Kobe or isn’t Jordan is in fact a fact. He’s neither of those two players. He’s LeBron James. Those who don’t think he’s better than those two might not have reasons for why they think those two are better, it could be personal preference. That isn’t necassarily "hating" that’s just favoring different players.
