True_JafiParticipantI know its early but Mudiay looks real good. He plays at his own pace and can handle the rigors of the NBA. I do think he was the best pg in the draft. The Knicks should have picked him (but maybe can see why they picked Kristaps). Mudiay jump shot looks improved and we already knew in transition he is a beast. Something the Knicks really needed. A solid 19 &10 last night but the most impressive thing was his post game interview. He not playing no games!

SinaParticipantI like Mudiay. He is a sperior athlete. In terms of physical tools against other PGs, he is just like LBJ at SF position, big, strong and explosive. More than that, he is a real PG with very good ball handling skill and court vision. He could be very dangerous offensively and defensively.

publius2481ParticipantI am very high on Mudiay. I think he is the third best prospect out of this year’s draft. My guess is he will be up and done this year (as is true with most rookies), but watch out in two years. He will be one of the top five point guards in the league then.

GBeeParticipantReally impressed by his poise and patience coming off of ball screens. He already knows how to play at pace, probing the defense as opposed to blasting off the ball screen with his head down. He’s a good athlete, but he doesn’t rely on it which allows him to play at a speed where he can see plays develop and adjust on the move. I’ve seen him get compared to Wall, but I think that’s mainly due to his size. Wall didn’t even show an understanding of pace and change of speed til like year 3 and he still struggles with that at times. I also like his pull up potential more, but his 3 ball is ugly. His normal form from distance is naturally off-balance.

Meditated StatesParticipantI always said Knicks needed this guy. Kid has great promise. High IQ and athletic. Takes no prisoners out there.

Memphisboy14ParticipantI know it’s only been 2 games but it’s amazing that he already understands how to how to play in half court sets. Also he hasn’t even shown off his athleticism much these past couple of games. It’s almost like he’s on cruise control with his speed yet he effortlessly gets to where he wants on the court whenever he wants. I still think him and Jahlil Okafor will be the best players from this draft.

nick5354ParticipantNo offence but where was everyone when he was in China and the lead up to the draft? He has a solid few games followed by a monster game and now everyone here is +1ing each other saying how they knew he is going to be good.
I think we all need to take a step back. It is only summer league, so let’s not act like he is going to be the best PG in the draft just yet. BTW, I do think Mudiay will be better than Russell.

omphalosParticipantI think he’ll be better than Russell, but that’s more to do with me not rating Russell very highly.
That said, I think Mudiay is going to be a solid starter – hard to be a star with so many ridiculous PGs atm, but he’ll be a good NBA player at his position, probably around the Mike Conley level where he’s very good but not a star.
